Dylan, Google has been giving Android versions dessert names in order by letter. I'm not sure what A or B were, but we have Cupcake 1.5, Donut 1.6, Eclair 2.0 and 2.1. The next one is Froyo (some thought it would be Flan, but it's Frozen Yogurt, instead) not sure what the version number will be.i dont fully understand. its not an OS, and its not a version of android. so what is it exactly?

I added the MSN Money article about Sprint's "Satisfaction Guaranteed or Money Back" in the "Latest News" section in post #1.I don't know if this has been posted yet, but could this be what that meeting you guys were talking about was about.
Sprint introduces the Sprint Free Guarantee Boy Genius Report
Oops. Someone posted about this already on the speculation thread. Sorry about that.

To me it looks like Sprint is going all out with the EVO and WiMAX launch and I couldn't be happier about it.
I went looking and you're right about EVO running Froyo and about the wildfire part, but I couldn't find anything to substantiate the version number, however, I did find an interesting article that explains what Froyo is/does. Google's solution to Android fragmentation coming in 'Froyo'Nope. What you see is exactly what I read. and its spreading like wildfire across the net. at least this time I have a link to confirm what I saw. lol Hopefully it pans out.
TS out
I personally wouldn't switch away from Sprint, because I like their customer service and their rates are so much cheaper than Verizon's rates.Would you rather have it on Verizon Sprint's HTC EVO may be sold on Verizon as HTC Venture
I have a theory that it was Applesauce and Biscotti, but can't prove it. lolDylan, Google has been giving Android versions dessert names in order by letter. Thanks stkshooter. Although this information is interesting, I noticed the source for the information is AT&T, so I see it basically as propaganda.
As far as 4G coverage in Florida, I'm in the same boat as you. Sprint has a 51% stake in Clear and they're the ones building out WiMAX. If you look for information coming from them, you might get a different picture.
SoFLO has done quite a bit of research on Clear and has listed his findings in the 4G/WiMAX Coverage (sticky thread). If you look there, you'll see quite a few Florida cities listed including Miami, Orlando, Jacksonville and Tampa Bay. So it's on the way and I expect it to come quickly, so just be a little patient.
I really expect the EVO to start pushing the WiMAX build out. On another note, Clear and Sprint are pushing for 4G standards, which I think is a great idea. Clearwire Paves Way for LTE in US.

Follow the link I left in post #1060.what might b the additional options for this new operating system? what are its capabilities? i have not seen any specifications. What makes it better?
serves you right for thinking about someone else other than us EVO types. lolI just posted the link WhiteNoise gave us (post #1061) in the Incredible forum thinking it might cheer them up or give them something to talk about, but they completely blew me off. Someone posted and said they liked the Ventures way back when. Geesh, guess I should stay away from there.
Yeah, I need to stay put and stop worrying about them.serves you right for thinking about someone else other than us EVO types. lol
TS out,
I talked to the Best Buy phone rep in my area. He said/confirmed: they are doing pre sales in May and that he is trying to get an actual Evo so he can do demonstrations for customers. The price tag will be in the $250 range. It will be released in June or July. It will also allow for dual talk/downloading with wifi only. fwiw....
Quite the knowledgeable phone salesman when Sprint has said themselves that the 4G data/voice isn't set in stone yet.
Not trying to be an asshole, thanks for the info, but jeez it bugs me when people give out bogus info (meaning, him)

(4g simultaneous still being tested)The Evo 4G will do voice calls at the same time as you're connected over WiFi and not when you're connected over EV-DO (3G).

I find peoples loyalties and emotional attachments with regards to cellular phones to be quite interesting. Kind of like with favorite restaurants or cars.
Hell I own VZW, Sprint, and T-Mobile stock as well as Apple, Google (2 shares - they are expensive as all hell) Palm, Samsung, and soon HTC (if I could understand how the hell to buy their stock). So no matter who "wins" - I make sure I always win. And that's how we should think as customers. Companies compete and encourage each other to do better - all for the benefit of the customer.
