Help Bring other google calendars into calendar app

In particular the Sports calendars!!!
In the words of Jean-Luc Picard, how would I make it so?

I've had no end of headaches trying to sort this out, and I'm still at the following stage: :banghead:

In my google account I have the following calendars
1. main calendar (of course)
2. contacts birthdays
3. public holidays
4. my football team (who's identity is irrelevant in this topic)

I've never had any problems bringing in all the other calendars, but I've never managed to get the football calendar to be included.

The best trick I've found previously to get other calendars into the stock calendar app is to download Business Calendar Free However, for my football calendar, this has given me no joy.

Yesterday, I installed Neat LPX, which after a factory reset etc to my amazement brought in the football calendar. This was the first time I've ever seen this happen.

As Neat LPI is my main ROM I thought I'd restore it back and do all the clear storage of calendar etc and re-sync, but this had differing results. Sometimes it would pick up only my main calendar, other times no calendars at all.

I tried deleting+resetting up my google account which didnt do the trick.

After much clear storage etc. I eventually managed to get it back to being in a state of all the correct calendars minus the football calendar. I then thought I'd cut my losses and give up. At this point I went into the stock calendar app and I was shocked that out of the blue it appeared in the calendar list! I also managed to get all the fixtures in the calendar. Party time.

Job done I thought. Only to find my contacts birthdays were now doubled up! :banghead:

After much googling and tinkering I couldn't get rid of my doubling-up problem.

I then noticed after about an hour without doing anything to the calendar the football calendar was no longer in the calendar app's list and all the fixtures gone. Gonads to this I thought, so I wiped calendar etc. and eventually got it back to its original state.

Restoring back LPX then did the same - the calendar disappeared up its own chuff box after about an hour.

I'm now back to where I started, having all the calendars I want except for my football calendar.

If anyone has any ideas on how I can bring this calendar in and keep it there I would be most appreciative! :)

Ive found a neat way to do this in google calendar...

log in to G calendar, on the left H side under other calendars choose the option browse interesting calendars. Navigate through the relevant sports/leagues/teams and find the one you want. I now have the Arsenal league matches in my calendar! yay!

This is what I've been talking about! :banghead:

Now the question is, how do you get it into the calendar on the phone!?

trying to work this out too! I see most events in Google calendar but not my arsenal entries.....

surely someone living in east anglia should be supporting the mighty Ipswich Town rather than Arsenal.......

anyway, you guys have got me interested in getting fixtures on my calendar, so i've done a bit of digging to avoid working on a friday afternoon. It seems there are several forums (albeit from a year or 2 ago) saying that you simply can't do this and it's a known bug at the google end. seems to me this is an issue they haven't got round to fixing.....:hmpf:

though once hawker gets his teeth into something, a solution is usually found.

No Syd. I'll have to have a look at that, but it looks like that's going to be an import job, so if the fixtures change (as they often do) then they would become out of date.

I'll have a squint later anyway. Thanks butty

it is an import. just done it and it's very easy and works well, now have the mighty tractor boys fixtures on my phone.

from what i can find, you can't do a direct sync from google calendars.

Well i managed to bring my football teams calendar into my phone, albeit briefly, so there must be something that can be done.

There is an app store the play store that claims to be able to do this called sports calendar. Not sure if i can afford the £1.24 tho! :)

Knew you'd find the answer!

Splash out for the boys and test it will you old bean.

Btw, spill the beans, which team deserves your valuable time and effort on this?
