so today Google topped it's own record set back in November of '07 $747.24. Now it's
$748.9​

While Apple declined to $685.25 from $704... some genius predicted $740 for Apple by this time..

Thats great, but these figures relate to what exactly?
 
If you look at apple stock chart from 12th it went up all way to $700 and a week later right about when ios6 went public the stock came down.

now, i'm pretty clueless when it comes to stocks and such, but it interesting to see that google's stock is higher the apple's stock.

Individual stock price doesn't mean a whole lot in terms of the total worth of a company. Market capitalization (stock price times number of shares) gives a better idea.

Think of it this way: suppose I start a company, and get it to the point that it's worth, say, $500,000. If I haven't sold/given any stock to venture capitalists, friends or family, or anybody else, I hold the only share of the company, and that single share is worth $500,000. But my company obviously isn't as valuable as, say, Berkshire Hathaway, which currently has a stock price above $132,000 per share. That's because Berkshire Hathaway has 1.66 million shares that are each worth $132,000.

Google has a market capitalization of about $247 billion. Apple's market cap is about $628 billion. So, in the eyes of the market, Apple, as a whole, is worth a little over 2 times what Google, as a whole, is.
 
It was bound to happen, google has the world cornerned far more than apple. Google is becoming big brother.

Next thing you know, google will have it's own grocery line out!

I sincerely hope technology falls on it's face even though my hypocritical *ss uses it.
