Root Contacting cm devs?

Wouldn't the best way to get an official cm release on our device is have the devs do it, correct?

Don't they need our device donated first?

If so.. then I guess we will have to create a cm ourselves..

If not, can someone contact them?

The phone doesn't has enough support for an official cm build. We could get a dev to do an unofficial build but it is vey unlikely we'll get an official one.

Usually, they rely on non-cm devs to make an unofficial build. once you have a solid working build, THEN they may pick it up as official.

Optimus V devs spent a lot of work towards that end and still didn't quite make it. This phone has VERY long way to go before you even get close to what the OV had.

Some of the OV devs decided it was actually better being unofficial, you had more room to play. Plus, you have to do pretty much all of the work anyhow, so where is the benefit?

someone contact Bobzhome. at one time word was he had some stuff possibly available for optimus elite as he owned the device. he may have given up on things due to cwm taking so long. but he may still have something he was working on around that either he wouldn't mind continuing or allowing someone else to continue

truth is most low end phones dont make it to the official build, the LG optimus elite is highly underestimated because of the specs and the 800mhz proccesesor which is actually 1ghz. this phone CAN run it, but we're best off getting a dev to make an unofficial build for us, we should get some people from SDX as they are highly known for ports on low end phones, Any Devs in mind? im thinkin qnhoang8

well Bob has a nice cm7 ROM called backside that would be easier to get running on elite vs a cm9/10 would be at least for now. its possible he already had it or something similar built just waiting to begin tests. hard to say.
