Root [ROM] Harmonia 2.03 28Sept12 (Virgin)

Cool, looks good, what exactly is disable sending usage data?

I believe it's supposed to turn off sending information to Google about how you use Android. I've never seen a detailed explanation of exactly what information is transmitted or how it may be used.

There are two entries for dalvik.vm.heapsize in the build.prop, both 32 and 64. Is this intentional? Will it cause problems?

Was the system font changed?

The extra line will not hurt anything except a little performance.
System font should not be changed, but it is possible. I used bits from a lot of different system pulls, and not all were stock.

If I have time I will look into it and post an update. Unfortunately it probably effects Aeneas and the stock images too.

What Kernel is this using? Can we overclock at all?
How is battery life compared to stock?
Does this feel faster than the original ROM?

Im on the edge of flashing this! I just want to be able to set overclock settings so I can underclock/overclock when needed automatically

Giantpune has made a custom kernel for overclocking. Check out the thread for the boot img. Flash it after you install the rom.

Hi Leslie,
So far so good with 2.02. One thing I was wondering if you redid from the Virgin copy was the 3G/1X indicators on the notification area. Virgins Rom has the 1X icon I think overwritten with the 3G icon, to make customers think they always have 3G. Are these files I can download from somewhere and overwrite to some location rather than reflash?

It's a stock kernel for now.
It feels faster because it is more efficient without extra junk running in the background. Same reason battery life is better.

It wouldn't surprise me if they did that, it's an easy enough fix, but I haven't done it on the rom.

Easiest way to correct them is to use UOT Kitchen and use their flasher.

it is a fact that virgin mobile did this on the elite. as soon as I switched to the htc one v I began to see the 1x icon when I dropped down to 1x. either it was a major flub in VM/lg's behalf or intentional deception. because the elite at least in my area spent more time on 1x vs 3g. hell it struggled to hold a data signal period. the one v has none of those issues.

All the various speed icons are there in one of the APKs (can't remember which one at the moment, but I posted about the exact required change in a thread here). IIRC, the only change that should be needed is to set a value to true instead of false in a bools.xml file.

EDIT: Here it is - http://androidforums.com/elite-all-...memo-ota-update-coming-elite-post4759035.html

Leslie, I have some changes to send you that will fix the MAC address issue.

2.03 is up

Important changes:

3g/1x fix (should now show 1x instead of 3g)
Stock fonts re-inserted
Mac Address fixed (will revert to yours)
Heapsize fix

Sweet! I'll have to download it today and give it a shot. Glad to see a development community for this phone - I'll repost in a while and let you know what's goin on.

Hey Leslie, is it okay if I give your ROMS their own section in an app im making for the OE? I originally made it for just installing CWM, but now that I think about it, it wouldn't be very hard to add in a section that downloads your ROMS from the link into the right spot and then reboots into cwm. I've got it done for the most part and its working on mine, and a friends OE, I just have to add in the md5sum checking and then (maybe) your ROM stuff. You would be given the credit and all that jazz. Is that okay?

Instructions say format boot, this phone doesn't have a boot to format in mounts and storage, is that what the strange emmc partition is? Haven't formatted that one yet and no problems with all three if your roms.

Here is my screen with 2.03 and the notification sticks at 3G hasn't said 1x yet

There isn't really a need to format boot. The boot.img is the same size as the boot partition. It all gets overwritten.

I see, maybe some more complicated changes are required. Perhaps some smali editing is needed.

Confirmed: This will take some smali editing. I will probably take care of that.

I have no data connectivity since flashing. Shows 3g but no connection to servers. Phone works and wifi is fine. I tried toggling airplane mode.
