Root [ROM] Harmonia 2.03 28Sept12 (Virgin)

Instructions say format boot, this phone doesn't have a boot to format in mounts and storage, is that what the strange emmc partition is? Haven't formatted that one yet and no problems with all three if your roms.
That is left over from copying other roms about sections.

I make Harmonia for 5 phones, Aeneas for two.

Here is my screen with 2.03 and the notification sticks at 3G hasn't said 1x yet
Darn.

There isn't really a need to format boot. The boot.img is the same size as the boot partition. It all gets overwritten.
Correct, and actually the installer formats System as well.

I see, maybe some more complicated changes are required. Perhaps some smali editing is needed.

Confirmed: This will take some smali editing. I will probably take care of that.
Let me know what you find and if it's not a huge hassle I will use it next update. It's not a big issue though.

Will NFC work with this? Thanks for the wonderful work!
Yes, and You're welcome.

NFC works correctly - as does everything else - my girlfriend and I have tried it and she is on pure stock, while I'm on Harmonia 2.03.
That is always the goal of Harmonia, strip it down, but leave everything work like it should, this helps with compatibility and stability.

Just wanted to say great job to Leslie Ann for the rom. You are a pioneer for the OE group!

Is there a significant difference between 2.02 ad 2.03? Also, is the wifi tether included in this rom okay to use? TIA.

Yes the wifi tether is safe to use. See the first post for a changelog from .02 to .03.

Thanks LeslieAnn for the time you put into this rom, I've been a fan and a follower since my OV.
I think this question was asked earlier but I didn't see an answer, do we have to install gapps to use Google Maps etc? TIA

No gapps to install this is totally stripped down except for basic essentials, you can download whatever else you want

Thanks Leslie Ann. Runs smooth as butter with Giantpune's kernel.

Clocked at 1305/245 with Voltage Control from the Play Store. I average 11-12 hours of light to moderate use with the governor on smartassV2.

Oh! It's worth mentioning; with Harmonia installed I have about a 2x longer startup time than with stock. Any ideas why? Did it have to do something with the build.prop and other tweaks? Note that the performance of my OE is almost incomparable to stock in terms of improvement, it just seems that the only thing that actually takes longer to accomplish is booting up. As in, I see the boot animation for twice as long as when using stock.

Just wondering....Why is my video format recorded in H.264/avc when I select mms, I think that's cool and all, its a good format, but its not supported by actual mms.

CORRECTION: hmmm...okay apparently the format is NOT H.264... I thought that was strange. Its actually 3gp like it should be, but the stock gallery is reading it as H.264 for some odd reason.........Leslie, you got some splainin to do....:p

Once Again: Now I'm utterly confused:confused:.....I installed quickpic, to pull the video up in yet another place and its saying its saved as .3gp....(which it is) and its saying that the Mimetype is video/h264.....ooookay......The part that gets me however, is that when trying to attach the video to an mms with stock gallery, my messaging app will say unsupported video format. However when I go into my file manager and say share with message, then it let's me attach the video just as if it were a regular 3gp

OK.
Just flashed the ROM and have some questions because this appears to be very different from other flashes on say the V.
Is all I have to do is Wipe cache partition and Advanced -> Wipe dalvik cache?
That's what I did.
All my apps are there since nothing was formatted. I think I always formatted before, then restored with TiB.

First boot after a flash is always long, but also, this rom is deodexed, Odex is faster (but harder to work with), so that could be part of it.

Once booted though it should act the same.

Nothing was changed in that system.

Indeed, once it does finish booting it acts properly (and infinitely better than stock), thanks for the feedback! I knew it wouldn't be anything wrong with it :)

Why did you change it to 1x instead of 3G?

See this:

Hi Leslie,
So far so good with 2.02. One thing I was wondering if you redid from the Virgin copy was the 3G/1X indicators on the notification area. Virgins Rom has the 1X icon I think overwritten with the 3G icon, to make customers think they always have 3G.

Also on GiantPunes kernel, and flashed to this ROM now. Not a single hiccup, impressed actually. I might try to underclock it and whatnot to get more battery life out of this.
