I think the majority of stories are relayed faithfully from what the poster has heard from their source. It's the source that's typically been incorrect. IncrediblyAnnoying sounds like he has some good potential info, and I'm glad he's posted it. Obviously there's no way for him to prove to everyone up front that it is correct. If we get a flood of posts in the near future that Verizon employees are being trained we'll know it's correct. If we don't hear that, his source gave him some incorrect info. Simple as that.

I'm glad he posted the info of course. It's why I visit here.

if i could get two n1's on a family plan for the same price as 2 incredibles.. i would DEFINITELY get the n1's. out of sheer vanity.

having the "google phone" is a much more substantial entry in the contest for cool vs. the iphone than an HTC anything.. despite the fact that they are 95% identical.

What if there are two versions? Say the Google Nexus One were the original with CDMA and Verizon's version was a Nexus One Signature Edition (VZW Exclusive!!!1! HOLY S$#&). Google gets it's standardized product and Verizon gets something special. Would the odds be totally against that?

It certainly could explain some of the confusion about Verizon's Nexus One's in store availability. There was also the Sense UI confusion a while back.

The Incredible and the Nexus 1 are NOT the same phone. The guy I talk to assures me of that. He has both the Incredible and the Nexus 1. He tells me he has had the Incredible since December and he just received his hardware revised Incredible about 3 - 4 weeks ago he wouldn't tell me what changes were made he would only tell me that HTC took it from a mid-level device and turned it into a high end device. He doesn't know when it will be release or at least he won’t say he says its marketing’s job to determine that it is just his job to make sure their network can handle the new phones. He thinks the release will be soon considering he has had the device as long as he had. For what it’s worth he also say VZW is going to be getting EVO without 4G but this is a ways away and he has not seen it yet.

I tweeted back for some more information as to why he says the HTC Incredible is coming out Friday.

Hopefully this guy has some credible information or something.

OK FOLKS! Here is my daily report.

My Disclaimer: Yes I am real. Yes, I did work for Alltel & the VZW for a total of four years. Yes, I left VZW last month. Yes I worked in retail. And yes I do have four reliable (REAL) contacts located in four different retail store in my old market. They are former colleagues, and yes, I trust them implicitly.

My Report: No change from yesterday. ZERO info. in any of the stores. VZW has not informed these stores of any device called the Incredible or ADR 6300. No devices, dummy phones, preview units, or accessories have arrived in the market in question. No employee has been asked to take an online-training. And no-late night meetings have occurred to train about a device (VZW does not do this anyway).

I sincerely think anyone who has said any different about what a retail supposedly has or has heard or has done, is full of it. Either that, or they talked to a rep that has NO MORE information, and probably less, than the readers of this blog. This stuff about, "well my system here says...mumbo jumbo," is just that - mumbo jumbo.

I read so many of these stories about what has supposedly occurred in a retail store and they just are not plausible. Read my previous posts. VZW does not tell its reps about something that has not leaked on the Internet, or at least not until it is leaking that very second.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. I would trade any of my three children for an Incredible (j/k, but close). But I do feel as frustrated as any of you. I WANT THAT DEVICE. I have four insiders in the second most productive market's retail stores who are on our side. I will report as soon as I hear anything.

Ahh, it was just a search of his posts.

I think that's the same phone as the http://images.pcworld.com/news/graphics/188788-htcincredible3_180.jpg picture, check out the serial number.

Taken at a different time though. Also, whats up with the lack of more weather information?

Just trying to pull some blood out of this stone.

Maybe, just maybe some VZW employees know more than your sources. I know, there's no possible way, because they people you know are probably the VZW CEOs.
