The two conclusions that can be drawn from this:

IncrediblyAnnoying's friend is the one who originally leaked those pictures, or IncrediblyAnnoying took a leaked picture, cropped it and passed it off as his own.

If #1, then he has a very credible source.

Glad to hear it too. I avoided those VZW cellular sales people. I usually get some rude people in there. This one was on the corner of Hurstbourne & Shelbyville. Closest one to me. Haven't made it to the others yet.

The pcworld pic shows a lot more info in the black around the weather icon. Date, temp, etc. that is missing from the other one. Photoshop?

EDIT: DEFINITE Photoshop! Those bubbles on the wallpaper MOVE. Notice, they're in the SAME position. The last two digits of the time are identical, "37," and the 1's just don't look right. Desktop icons identical. Snowy forecast. Blacked out temp / date / etc. I NOW OFFICIALLY CALL BS.

That's what I'm thinking. I don't know much about how the phone gets that information, so maybe he didn't have enough coverage to determine the location? Maybe radio was turned off? Or maybe he tried to conceal his location before posting it online with Photoshop and forgot about the serial number (must be really dumb if so).

Is there a precedent of accessory manufacturers receiving license to produce accessories at a time after the initial launch so that the OEM can make some accessory money too?

My Report: No change from yesterday. ZERO info. in any of the stores. VZW has not informed these stores of any device called the Incredible or ADR 6300. No devices, dummy phones, preview units, or accessories have arrived in the market in question. No employee has been asked to take an online-training. And no-late night meetings have occurred to train about a device (VZW does not do this anyway).

I sincerely think anyone who has said any different about what a retail supposedly has or has heard or has done, is full of it. Either that, or they talked to a rep that has NO MORE information, and probably less, than the readers of this blog. This stuff about, "well my system here says...mumbo jumbo," is just that - mumbo jumbo.

I read so many of these stories about what has supposedly occurred in a retail store and they just are not plausible. Read my previous posts. VZW does not tell its reps about something that has not leaked on the Internet, or at least not until it is leaking that very second.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. I would trade any of my three children for an Incredible (j/k, but close). But I do feel as frustrated as any of you. I WANT THAT DEVICE. I have four insiders in the second most productive market's retail stores who are on our side. I will report as soon as I hear anything.

This may be nothing too, but the one's in the time in another photo I found look different than the one's in that photo.

Maybe they changed that or something. I haven't ever used Sense, but it's something I noticed anyway.

The more I look at it, the more I see fake....for these reasons.


No, weather details

The 1's on the clock look to be a different font, and they don't turn white near the middle intersection like the 3 and 7 do.

Where Bernardsville intersects the watermark, looks like it was blurred out in IncrediblyAnnoying's picture


From what I can see from the watermark, it's identical in both.


Edit: Also on where the 2 from the temp is at, it doesn't gradient nicely, and has an odd shaped blue spot.
 
a little OT but as far as the controversy over the N1, the consensus over the many sites i read indicate that verizon will NOT be selling the phone in stores but that they WILL be servicing them in stores... if true would be a good case for them having a limited stock in select corporate stores for warranty exchanges...
 
Wouldn't it be great it people spent as much time trying to search for more information than just discrediting others? If its fake, who cares, want a cookie? We have all the pictures we need, you complained about people being off topic, what did your last 5 posts about the photo add to the debate on when this phone is going to come out?

While I'm not one for calling someone a liar without proof, those who come in and try to pass fake information along as legitimate should be outed as long as there is substantial evidence to do so.
 
Here is some proof I am who I say I am. Former Alltel name badge and Alltel ID, VZW badge, the training manual of a course on NetAce (sales system) we used during conversion training, and 3 paystubs that you receive in the mail when you stop working for VZW (and stop being able to look online at VZW payroll site).

Again, I dont have all the answers, but I can speak for retail stores in my former (large) market.

Now wait a second here, Mike. It's NOT us yelling out "2 more weeks," bud. That "2 weeks" claim was made roughly 10 days to 2 weeks ago by just about every single tech and gadget site on the internet. No one here is looking for redemption - we don't make our living by reporting this stuff as fact to any website. The people who should be looking for redemption (in the very near future if this phone doesn't drop) are the folks who write this stuff for their sites (not ALL sites' verbiage is misleading, by the way - some are far worse than others) and try to pitch it as factual when it's not, thus adding to the confusion and mayhem. A lot of us who were going nuts over the whole "2 weeks" thing were simply excited by it and wanted to share what we had read. Nothing more, nothing less. :)

Anything I said about not believing people on this forum is in regards to those who said "My source at blahblah says it'll be out in 2 weeks." Not to anyone else.

Specifically, in response to your last question, we can now add IncrediblyAnnoying to the list of "not credible sources". So we may not know who to ask for the release date, but we know who NOT to ask.

I believe that you used to work for Alltel/VZW, but I also think it's possible that your sources may not be the first people to receive their information. It might be that they receive it only a few hours after the first to get the release information, but in the internet age, that is a substantial amount of time, for the information to be spread to places such as forums.
