Ok, so ive searched high and low thru forums, web and even facebook. I have virgin Mobiles htc evo v 4g, rooted with stock ics rom. Now, ive gotten the animation to work but cannot get any boot sound to work. Please help! Thanks! Detailed instructions a plus!

Hello!
To get a custom sound you need to place the required audio file(mp3) into system/media/audio/ui named as Bootsound.mp3 :)

Lol, thats ok. I appreciate your help though.. Its not all that important, but i have the r2d2 Boot Animation and wanted the sound with it.. Im sure ill figure it out someday :). Thanks again you guys!!

just made sure it was read write in the folder is all just renamed the file but depending on which rom I am running I had to rename it to the correct file name android_audio.mp3 first time I forgot the s at the end of the other one and it didnt work put the s at the end and it worked

I got one to work. Had to change a cid file, and not the soynd i wanted but i got something to work! Lol. Thanks again tho..

ok well looks like the questiion has been thrown back and forth but no-one has given an exact answer to the original question, which is basically if you remove the stock boot animation and put in another renamed the same "Why doesnt the stock BoltAnimations.mp3" play with the new boot animation? It will only play with the original stock boot animation. I have tried renaming different sound files and trimming them to the 4sec time of the stock boot sound with absolutely no luck. I have also looked at the cid file that shows the sequence and path that the animation and sound follow and tried changing the name of the .mp3 in it and renaming the one i wanted to use to the same, but again no luck! its like the stock sound is somehow married to the stock animation. Anyone care to attempt a clear answer on this. Thanks
Stock boot sound and animation are in the /system/customize/resource folder on my phone
