Nope I don't get to choose what I do. My teacher even makes us name our variables what she gives us. The last program I did was on a loan and we had to name variables "annualInterestRate" etc which is way too long for a variable name imo.

Also, the head professor is really nice and open to class ideas so I'm thinking of suggesting an android class since it's easy to download the android emulator on our computers. Hopefully I will somehow magically get good enough in the next few years to take no$gba and make it run well on android (for ds).

Yeah, the nice thing about Android development is it's available for both macs, and PCs.

You'll learn to appreciate longer variable names the farther you get along into more complex programs. With today's Development environment, you can usually use Intellisens(think autofill) to type out the names quickly anyway.

I have to disagree with NKT. An IQ phone is a phone sent to a rep to try for a while.

IQ is a program that most senior reps in stores are asked to participate in at VZW. It is meant to raise a rep's "IQ" about a device.

Reps can go to the IQ website and order a device that they would like to try. Generally speaking, new/hot devices are on what they call "allocation." In other words, these devices may be needed for sale. so no VZW employee may purchase the device personally, or get the device thru the IQ program, sometimes for a matter of weeks until they see how many are being sold. If plenty are in stock, then employees may purchase the device and the device becomes available for one to order via the IQ program.

IQ phones are not what are used by reps as their work cell phone (the # listed on the business card). Typically, an employee is given a choice of any device, once per year, to use as a work cell. An IQ device, on the other hand, comes with its own number. Say I am in Florida, my IQ phone may come with a Oklahoma mtn.

That said, I never participated in the IQ program, because if I couldnt put the device on my work line, and actually get real use out of it, then why would i want it? To play with in the evenings? I don't think so. I always got my hands-on experience with new devices by playing with our demo units when the store was not busy.

An IQ devices model # comes with IQ before the actual model #. Just as an insurance device with Alltel, for instance, came with a TS before the model #, e.g., TSAX8600BLU was the model # for an Asurion refurbished LG 8600 blue.

what if the load change was a 32gb memory card??? It was recently released by sandisk!!! that would truely be .... wait for it.... INCREDIBLE!!!!!...

is that possible NKT?

Extremely unlikely since the cheapest HTC would be able to get these supplied to them would be around 120USD per chip. Don't think any of you want to pay that premium or would at least want to be given the choice.

Your teacher makes you name your variables specific things? What kind of nonsense is that? I've never heard of anyone doing that.

Also, Incredible.

Ok I have not played this game before as I was an alltel customer not in contract I can get rid of Verizon at anytime. would this be considered a new 2 year contract?

That card is $200!!!! That would make the Incredible retail cost at least $600.

Any Verizon phones at 299 new? I think the pricing model is a little different for each carrier.

I'm not sure but I don't think verizon has ever had a superphone like this (better than what competition has to offer). The incredible should be more expensive to produce than the N1 if it is basically the same thing but has a better camera and 6gb internal.

I'm not saying it's definitely 300, if it is I probably won't be able to afford it. :(

Right now I'm in java (220) so it's basically no functionality. I've taken 1 python class and also I took a C++ class around 6 years ago so I'm not exactly a hacker lol.

I've been coding Java for around 10 years now. Also do some C# and a little C++. Before that it was mostly COBOL. (Oh the memories of Y2K)

Anyway that is the reason that Android is so appealing to me. I had started doing some iphone development before I heard about Android. Objective C is not very fun though so I'm really looking forward to dumping the iPhone and doing some Android programming. The Incredible can't get here fast enough for me.

Welcome to the forum.

anyone want to even guess a ballpark estimate for the price of this phone with an upgrade? $199?

The Incredible is more powerful than the moto droid, which was $299 w/$100 mir for a LONG time. Of course the 6300 does not have "the thinnest slide out keyboard ever" or whatever they told us, but its powerful. I am guessing close to $300 with a $50 -$100 mir would be a good deal.

I have an appeal to all lurkers: Why don't you come out of the woodwork and show yourselves? Contribute! Let us get to know you! If you follow the rules you won't get your head bitten off! Thanks!

Not a long time lurker, just about the last week. You all are the only ones that have been able to provide what I feel is reliable info.
I don't rember who it was 60 or 70 pages ago but someone asked if anyone here works in the big box stores. I don't work in the "store" itself but I do work for B....ah.....BUY MORE...thats it. I work for Buy More. ;)
For what it's worth, I have been checking daily to see if/when it hits our system. It is posable that the VZW corp stores will have stock before we will and as much as I want this phone, (wife thinks I'm nuts) I will still end up holding out, or try to, so I can purchase a protection plan insted of the monthly charge VZW is offering.
I have also talked to the VZW rep in one of the stores I shop at and as of last saterday, he had no idea about the Incredible, (no suprise) but he did say, (and I take this with a grain of salt) The N1 release date was being pushed back. How true this is I don't know, I have not had the time to build that trust yet.

To nelms and Beo
Based on two post from you, Looks like we have a commen intrest other then the phone. But to keep the thred on track, I won't go into detail here other then 1/2" MOA @ 200 with a hand built 20" AR using handloads. :D

I would guess $299 w/ $100.00 rebate.

Puts it in that magical $199.00 range. Take another $50.00 for NE2 sounds good to me!
