[Verizon] CM10 or BB

Since I've returned to my G Nex, I've only used Pete's bugless beast. I love it, but my curiosity is pushing me to give CM10 a try.

Could anyone who's tried both give me an informed opinion about one over the other?

-Thanks

It really boils down to: do you want an almost pure stock feel (BB) or do you want a lot of themeing options built in (CM10).

Both are silky smooth and very reliable, one just has a lot of flash and one is stripped down and mean.

Trooper stole my advice. Just make a backup and flash away. I'm thinking of trying CM10 as well but i really wish they would hurry with the stable build. I realize there is an M build available.

FYI most of the nightlies ran fine for me, except for yesterdays. Not sure if it was kernel related or not. But restored back to AOKP and then dirty flashed B4. Not bad. There is still a weird BT issue once in awhile. But if you don't use BT, then try AOKP.

However I will say that CM10 (on my device anyway) runs much smoother than AOKP.

YMMV.

I just flashed the M build of CM10. Isn't the M builds suppose to be an inbetween build between a nightly and a release candidate? Either way it's running ok. I've had two force closes but nothing major yet. I'll know more tomorrow. I really just looking for the best battery life possible.

Yes they are the in between builds like you said. You using the stock kernel or another one?

it has a good bit of options built in. ATM i'm running the stock kernel but i already have Leankernel on my sd to install in a day or so to see which runs better. Plus Leankernel works with interactivex governor. I usually run a rom on it's stock kernel for a day or so to see what it's going to do before i try another one.

I've been on CM10 M1 since it's release. Runs very smooth and has comparable battery life to BB. I just hope the the next Monthly build has LED notification and custom Navbar settings.

This. I dont care about LED notifications as I use Lightflow. However, CM10 does have that already. Look under the display settings. ;)

Navbar that it what I miss. I hope they would implement things like AOKP has such as the ability to use the back button on a long press to kill a task. I love that feature big time.

Trophy - Have you ever tried Trinity kernel. Its the only way to go man. :)

i ran trinity on the STock JB rom. I didn't give it a lot of time though. A few days at best. I would try it again on a custom rom.

Yes CM10 has built in notification led customs. It works great.

Does CM10 use the latest radios from the Verizon JB push? I just went back to stock because my radios were not working correctly and was going to send it in for repair work but it turns out that the stock/update fixed my radios it seems. Would this ROM maintain the same radio code. Anyone else have similar experiences?

No custom Roms includes radios. You have to either flash those separately or already be on them.

I was already on them so i just flashed this rom on my device and that gave me CM10 with the newest Radios
