Of course they can offer it because because they know that hardly anyone will buy them and it really won't hurt the network that much since.......no body will have the devices. Still an insane deal though.

There is fine print regarding the free mobile hotspot service...

Any usage above the 5 GB monthly allowance will be billed at a per-MB rate. This feature is separate from your smartphone data feature. When your smartphone is connected using 3G Mobile Hotspot, all data sent or received by your smartphone (including data sent or received by any Wi-Fi devices connected to it, or by your smartphone itself) will be billed according to your 3G Mobile Hotspot feature, and not according to your smartphone data feature.

that pretty much negates any benefits of having the service right there.

notice that is VZW support, not VZW Offers


They are 2 different twitter accounts. The offers seems to be more polite or more encouraging.

The support comes across like a typical standard response.

You know I don't care if Verizon announced the Incredible would be available in November, I could handle the wait knowing that the end was in sight. Right now this is like a slow lingering death.

Probably won't cause "problems" per se (read account termination), but they will most likely charge you the $60/mo for a data plan if they find out. Back in the day when #777 was deducted from your minutes, my wife and I used that for our internet service. Eventually VZW changed their policy on #777 tethering and flagged our account. We got a :eek:$1,000:eek: cell phone bill because of data usage. That WAS a "problem." Thankfully, they didn't charge us the $60/mo thereafter.

Moral of the story: be careful when you knowingly violate the TOS.

There are times in this forum where I cannot tell the difference between April Fool's & any other day. The nuggets of seemingly good info are often spanned by great volumes of useless posts. I appreciate everyone's energy and excitement, but c'mon. Funny is funny, but inane is excruciating.

BTW, simply including the word "incredible" in your otherwise irrelevant posts does not make it relevant.

Yeah, we all saw the screen shot, but we also saw an amazing photo shop of the Verizon site too...After seeing that, it makes the screen shot of the items on order just seem just as fake.

Thanks for all the info you guys have provided thus far...I'm waiting on some information from a friend that works for VZW and will keep you posted.

Yeah, I've been wondering about that too. It would be very easy to fake that with Microsoft Access and just entering in the numbers. No photoshopping needed.
 
you know what - screw april fools! I vow to uncover some real info today. I am gonna FB the other guy i know at VZ.... altho i dunno how good his info is. he told me incredible would be announced the 2nd floor day of CTIA... but we shall see! Everyone go nuts on all their known contacts.

It's probably a safe bet that he doesn't know any more than we do, but it doesn't hurt to try I guess. I have a feeling he's going to tell you that something will happen within 2 weeks....

To be honest, I think you would be better off asking your local sanitation worker over anyone that works within a Verizon facility. Verizon either keeps the best secrets and should work for the Defense department or keeps their people in the shadows like mole people.

off topic here.... you guys remember a few days ago that it was rumored that the nexus one would come with a "surprise" for verizon? Seeing that they allow the pre plus to be a mobile hotspot for free now, you think that might be the "surprise" for the nexus one?
