Help HELP HTC Evo 4g not charging?!

So, my power button does not work, only on really rare occasions, so I downloaded the "no lock" app so my volume rockers can turn my phone display on.

Today my phone died, and I left it on the charger for 3 hours. I came back and it still wouldnt turn on. (usually if i plug my phone into the charger, my phone just turns without me having to press the power or volume rockers)

Although it is not turning it, when I first plug it in, the HTC Evo 4g logo comes on, then dies.

I THINK my phone just isnt charging the battery? but how could that be if i plug in the charger and the phone power comes on for a brief moment?
:(

Try this, believe it or not, put the battery in the freezer for about 10 minutes, not the phone, just the battery, then take battery out and put it into phone and try to charge it...that may be a quick fix...
There is another way but I thought I'd post that first.:)
