Well, tomorrow I am going to VZW to see if I can get a droid a few days early. But I fully intend on working my charm on some reps to see what I can find out in any capacity. We shall see if it works. I
If not, yall will just have yet another "so I went to a vzw store...". I may or may not throw that tantrum in the store like I said last week. We'll see.

I thought this too, but talking to multiple Verizon workers, both in person and real life, it was HTC's decision to go from Desire to DROID Eris so they could piggyback on the advertising and identify with customers. Then, they were free to reuse the Desire name, which they did.
Also, why would they call it the Motorola Devour when we all thought DROID Devour would be the most BA name ever? Was it not "high-end' enough, or is the DROID name just over?
IMHO, I think the DROID name will only stay with the DROID, Eris, and their successors.
BTW, does anyone know if anything occurred today about the rumored EOL for the Eris that my Verizon connects told me wasn't happening? Just wondering!

The IQ program lets employees test-drive new devices after they launch- you have a queue of devices you want, and then they send them to you one at a time, and you get each for like 2 weeks. Exactly like Netflix pretty much. So any SKU with IQ in front of it means its a phone that will be used for the IQ program.

Ha Ha, Not that fast. I even double checked the verizon website first. so as not to make a fool of myself. Typing classes, plus, IT work means I'm on the computer all day...mostly checking this thread.

at least at the company I work for, the twitter and facebook account are run by the marketing dept only. No one is allowed to use any name relating to our company in any kind of marketing material or communications with the public. I'd assume vzw would have things like twitter on lock down and have a dedicated person(s) and would at least be privy to more knowledge than a csr.

First of all, i doubt they would ever leak anything on twitter. They work for VZW, stuff they post gets posted all over the web, and im pretty confident they are getting monitored so if they do leak something, someone will be punished.
Second, thats you hahaha, i was reading the conversation between you and VZWoffers lol
We can only hope for leaks from real ppl right now that can give us information without letting their higher ups/vzw knowing.
Theres a guy on twitter im following that supposedly knows the exact date of release for the Nexus One, hes not saying anything yet, won't until he feels like it or in a couple days. I hope he's right, im dying for either phone right now.

Ya, I think thats the key. We need to focus on a date. Anyone going to a VZW store, or talking to a clerk online, or talking to their "insider" needs to focus on hounding them for a DATE. The only piece we are missing is a date. How long will we be kept in the dark. Just get an estimate. We know the phone exists, we know (for the most part) its specs, and we know what it looks like, so the only remaining question is WHEN! Get out there and hound about a date boys!

Is anyone else considering buying the Incredible at the one-year price instead of two? I know I'm going to have the upgrade bug after seeing all these other new phones come out over the next year. The Droid 2 will be hard for me to resist if it has a usable keyboard coupled with a 4.3" screen, etc. Besides, I hate the idea of being locked in for two years...

But the droid does website has Moto written all over it, and doesn't mention Eris...
If the "droid does" slogan was vzw's instead of moto's... wouldn't the Eris be on there too?

I'll be buying the phone outright (full price), not with a NE2 or 1 Year deal because I prefer my Alltel plan over any of the Verizon plans.

No new Incredible pics, but if you want something to use as your wallpaper, these images might work.....I'm thinking that's what they are since they're too small resolution for a computer, and there's a couple nexus one themed ones.

There are posts scattered throughout the threads with appreciation (and other assorted and sundry thoughts) for the forum moderators.
User love them or hate them or ignore them, but the fact is this forum could not exist without them. I cannot imagine how much work it takes to maintain this board and I'm pretty sure it's not a job I want. I couldn't take the abuse.
So, thank you again, for everything you do in the forums and behind the scenes to keep this community running. Thank you for babysitting, cleaning up our messes, kissing our boo boos, and making us play nicely in the sandox.
And thank you, thank you, thank you for letting us back into the "playroom"! I missed all my friends!

My guess is that it's a collaborative thing. Both Moto and VZ put money into it.
Also, the Moto was the first Droid on the network, so there wasn't anything to go with it. Part of the agreement with Moto I'm sure.

Please...PLEASE...don't let me get up and see that the thread has deteriorated again to some level that has the staff spending too much time on one thread alone.
For those who are quick on the "trigger"...for goodness sake, re-read your post, think about it for a sec, consider being on the receiving end of your own post, think of how well the sarcasm or humor will carry through the text, evaluate whether your post is in any way rude, inappropriate, inflammatory, etc... and when you've done all the steps above...go get a soda or some coffee...and if when you come back, that post still makes sense to post...then by all means, post away!
Here's to a better April 2nd than the 1st...
