[Verizon] CM10 questions from a noob

1. I just flashed the new Gapps that was released a few days ago, yet I still can't get my picassa albums to sync up with my gallery. They said that was one of the issues they fixed.

2. Any way I can get SMS to display over a lock screen? Maybe a setting, widget or 3rd party SMS tool?

-Thanks as always.

I am running a new Nightly of CM10 and i am not having any issues with picassa albums :S

Also, using Handcent popup will allow you to answer texts without unlocking your device.

Hope this helps! :D

What mods does CM have? I've been on AOKP forever and was thinking about checking out CM.anyone tried both? Is there anything I would miss if I made the switch?

Are you running the 10/17 nightly? any issues?

Whatever the latest nightly is, i am running it. I heard they fixed that issue though...

Mods? Well CM has Stable versions of ICS and Nightlies (not as stable) of Jelly Bean. I have tried a lot of the popular ROM's and i have CM just because i got the best battery life from it.

I would suggest trying a CM9 (ICS) ROM as a starter, and if you feel dangerous, get a Nightly :)

They actually have 2 CM10 (Jelly Bean) milestone builds now (September and October). I was just on October and it was stable, definitely daily driver material. Here's the link to their XDA Thread, here's the link to download the milestones, and here's the link to download the nightlies.

I've been on both recently and if I'm not mistaken, CM10 has (most) everything that AOKP has, plus a little more. I actually like some of the CM10 mods better than AOKP (toggles, LED control, nav bar). Also, CM10+franco ran wayy smoother on my phone than AOKP did (with or without franco's kernel).

All in all, CM10 is the most customizable ROM without changing the look too far from stock. I was just on BlackBean which had much more customizations, but the phone no longer looked stock (and was more buggy).
