SMARTPHONE USERS SHOULD BE AWARE OF MALWARE TARGETING MOBILE DEVICES AND SAFETY MEASURES TO HELP AVOID COMPROMISE

The IC3 has been made aware of various malware attacking Android operating systems for mobile devices. Some of the latest known versions of this type of malware are Loozfon and FinFisher. Loozfon is an information-stealing piece of malware. Criminals use different variants to lure the victims. One version is a work-at-home opportunity that promises a profitable payday just for sending out email. In other words, use basic common sense. I like the scare tactic on rooting (again use common sense and do not grant root access to apps unless you know what they do)

Would you suggest a antivirus for your phone? If so, do know a good free one for android?

there are a few good ones on Google play AVG, Lookout Security & antivirus, Mobile security & antivirus by Trend Micro, Antivirus for Android by Moobila Corporation (cloud based scanning), and Kapersky are a few of them. though the threat is not rampant like it is in the PC world (as of yet anyways) I still would use one to check apps i install. I do know the one from Moobila Corporation does have a nice privacy check too and will let you know on of any apps that are sending private data which is a nice thing to know. There are also "Test virus apps" to check your antivirus program on Google play too.
