hmm the next droid = Shadow maybe? I know the Incredible is bad azz but the shadow has HDMI. Someone talk me down from the ledge I have had my thoughts of waiting for the Shadow.

i have yet to hear of the shadow, i guess i haven't been looking past the phones that are next in line. but hdmi would be amazing, maybe we'll be surprised and the incredible or nexus one will have it....probably not though.

Yeah that's what I think too that the Droid he was referring to is the Shadow and then there will be the Droid 2 the in late fall. I've been going back and forth about the Incredible and the Shadow too but since the Incredible is coming out first most likely, I'll be getting it.

Thought I'd just mention that the Incredible was brought up at a gathering yesterday by a VZW bigwig. It's the first non-tester I've heard talk about it.

The jist was, there's some cools phones coming out... The N1, Incredible, a new Droid... blah blah blah. It was in response to someone asking about the iPhone rumor.

Nice job of being true to your word avoiding this forum yesterday. As always, thanks for the updates.

It made sense for him/her to stay away yesterday. S/he is one of the maybe 4 people with real info. S/he gains nothing by being here except the satisfaction of helping a bunch of addicts.:)

Guys this may be a bit OT....and some of you may want to torch me for saying this...but here goes. Okay....not yet....I have a disclaimer. I realize that what I'm about to suggest will not work for everyone. And I realize that some people will have loyalties or baggage that will cause them to have strong feelings against what I say....but....well.....drum roll please....

You might want to go over and take a look at the HTC EVO 4G threads....and also take a look at the WiMax threads. Especially the sticky threads.

Remember my disclaimers? Okay, so here's my take. I am currently a Sprint customer...but I've been planning on switching to Verizon since early last year when 6 family members switched over to Verizon. My wife and I wanted an iPhone but refused to switch to AT&T due to residual hatred from previous dealings. So I lurked, almost got the Droid but didn't care for it once in the store. Then heard rumors of the Passion/Dragon phone....then the N1 and finally the Incredible. While waiting here in this forum...being in the same boat and desperate for the Incredible to arrive...I heard about the Supersonic (EVO 4G). Still, my intention has been to wait for the Incredible...or maybe get the N1 on Verizon. What has changed for me is seeing the EVO 4G and then reading up on WiMax. And for me personally, which will not be true for everyone, WiMax is available. The reports are that people are VERY happy with the WiMax speeds. Sprint reports 40 markets will have WiMax by the end of this year. And, the WiMax versus LTE debate sounds like pretty much a non issue considering that it hasn't yet been deployed and the schedule sounds like it will only begin next year. My ultimate point is this....as I research the EVO 4G and WiMax I have no choice but to switch my loyalties away from the route I intended. I'm now ready to stay with Sprint and experience the lightening fast speeds here in my market. And who knows....at the rate the Incredible is getting to market....you might be able to buy the EVO first? :p Like I said, I know there are reasons to disagree based on experience, loyalties etc. But I think FOR ME...a good route is to stay with Sprint because I think they are turning the tables. I think when the reports start filing out people are going to start to pay much closer attention and there will be a shift. And...as miserable as many have been waiting for the release of the Incredible...this could be your answer. In any case, I truly wish people the best. I'm not trying to agitate or offend. I think both phones will be awesome. I personally think the EVO is gonna fly in WiMax markets and blow the Incredible away for speed....but in 3G areas it will either be a close race...or the Incredible will have the advantage. Sprint prices (at this point) are better and they have introduced a no risk 30 day trial period.

Why am I here saying this? Because I believe a lot of you guys might find this information compelling. And...you might decide the phone you've been waiting for...isn't the phone you will buy! Please don't hurt me...I bruise easily! :D

NKT,
Thanks for all the work, you've had some really good stuff. Did you hear anything of Verizon becoming the NFL Draft Sponsor. It was on Verizon's Facebook Page yesterday. Just checking to the validity as anyone can hack and fake post all kinds of stuff anymore.

Every week there's a new rumor for the following week lol March 23rd, April 1st, April 6th I guess the date after that is the 13th? :p

NFL Draft and Verizon Heritage Golf=same week. Might be a good time to start plugging this phone.

Not sure the specs on this phone and the buzz surrounding it need to have a major forum (i.e. NFL draft, Golf etc) for an announcement. Guess my point is the phone will sell itself, albeit with some marketing.

Different take on lack of Incredible release. Just thinking about it: 1) I would presume Verizon has an idea about people posting on the Incredible (or other upcoming Verizon phone) on Android Forums; 2) Lot of lurkers (& obviously non-lurkers) trying to find out info as the either love Android platforms, hate ATT, the iPhone, or both; 3) Kind of a good way to start the "FREE" machine rolling on the Incredible to build the buzz/hype for this phone so when it DOES drop, Verizon will already have a small ball of advertising pre-started courtesy of this forum which should produce high initial sales.

Here's the thing: Verizon customers are generally such not by choice but by compulsion. We are those who require that their phones actually do telephony reliably, and exist in areas where Big Red is the only real game.

Sprint's prices seem awesome, and the EVO looks great. But where I am, I just don't think their service is an option. Sure, I hear that they roam on VZW's network, but I hear its not exactly an equal experience.

But thanks for the suggestion anyway.

Discussed here: http://androidforums.com/nexus-one/57502-nexus-one-verizon-sure-april-surprise.html

Original article from engadget: Verizon's Nexus One could be arriving 'by the end of next week' (updated) -- Engadget

Apparently VZW releases phones on Tuesdays, which would make the 6th, a possible release date.

Verizon will release phones on any day, they've even released one on Sunday I think. Tuesdays are just popular because its first of the week after a day of shipping.

Please don't kill me if this is a repost. I had a funeral to go to yesterday so I fell behind with this thread. I thought I saw last night on androidcentral.com an article about a post here that showed the Incredible training was now available. Now that is missing on their site and this thread is way too big to find a needle in a hay stack lol.

Was that an April fools joke or was it real?

Thanks :)

Same here. My wife had Sprint and would always drop calls here. Would love to be on Sprint or T-Mobile but it's not a real option where I live.
