AT&T Galaxy Note 2 release on 10/25 also?

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Release Date: AT&T to release Galaxy Note 2 on 25th October

I'd take it with a grain of salt because it's information supposedly given from a Customer Service rep and for the "regulars" on message boards, we all know how limited CSR's are given actual information like this.
dude, thanks. warms my heart even though it brings my hopes up! DON'T FAIL ME NOW AT&T.

@drex, do you know if Best Buy gets orders in from different carriers at different times or all pretty much the same? I'm looking to go through Best Buy mobile route as it may seem as if easier than going to an AT&T store where everyone else would seem to go. That and also I reallllllllllllllllllly dislike the sales people at my local store, extremeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeely terrible and disrespectful service.

Regarding Best Buy...I've seen 3 different scenarios (e.g. 1) Best Buy offering at the same time/release date as the provider, 2) Best Buy offering 1 week or more after an "exclusive" release directly through the provider, & 3) Best Buy offering before the provider). I know this really doesn't help much, but what I can tell you is that I haven't gotten an upgrade directly through Sprint for the past 4 years! My experience going directly through Best Buy Mobile far exceeded any experiences I had going directly through Sprint.

Even better, for us die-hards, the Best Buy reps have been more than accomodating when I ask them to just activate based from the box, so that I can take home and set up myself. For the past few phones I've upgraded for me and my family members (Photon Q, iPhone 4S, Photon, Optimus S, Epic 4G, EVO 4G), they accomodated my request without questions, so I was able to take everything home, open everything carefully myself, fully charge the phone before powering on, and set up from Point A-Z.

Not a lot of people have realized how great it is upgrading through them. Even my friends were joking about how I may be one of the few people that still purchases from Best Buy, but I had to school them on how easy it is going through them, how their price matching is so simple and pretty awesome, and how they usually have better promotions than many of the other stores (save for online deals, which I still have yet to try).

Just to give you an example, I've been upgraded to Silver Rewards the past couple years, just because of my upgrades on phones and tablet purchases. Even though I didn't necessarily spend $2,500 worth at the store, they have counted the full retail price of my phone upgrades, in order to continue offering me Silver Rewards. Even better, they had a program in Feb/March this year, where if you registered your phone number on their website, it would automatically indicate a $50 credit towards your next upgrade within 2012 (expiring at the end of December). It was called "Phone Freedom." Lucky for me, I had seen the promotion on the last day and registered the phones that would be eligible for upgrade this year. So, on top of the Best Buy Gift cards I got from Credit Card points, and the money I got from selling my OG Evo...there's not going to be any extra money out of my pocket to get the Note 2.

honestly i'd be shocked if all 5 carriers didn't release on the 25th. Why would samsung hold a special press event for a phone that has already been released on several other carriers in Europe if not to have a coordinated release. I'm betting sprint just jumped the gun. I bet samsung is having a whale of a time getting all the carriers to keep mum and coordinate. However, they've done a pretty good job. Outside of apple, Samsung is the only one that's been able to get the same phone on every major network and have a coordinated release. This is the way things should be.

Only setback for ATT is that their press release for the Optimus G stated that it would be the first quad-core phone on the network. And the Optimus G is schedule for 11/2 release on ATT, so that would mean the Note 2 would follow (maybe a week later, but who knows).

This article pointed it out and it's actually a really good point:
Samsung Galaxy Note 2 at AT&T: Release Date Scheduled After November 2nd

Sorry. Just started the thread because I know there will be quite a few ATT folks on here. I'm actually on Sprint and was hoping for the best for all of the ATT people upgrading, but their marketing announcement for the Optimus G just proves otherwise. Who knows, maybe the Note 2 will release a day after the Optimus G, which would still technically make it the 2nd quad-core device on the network.

Oh how I despise AT&T but, at least, this is some promising news. If true then it's only one more week until I can get my hands on this thing :D Then I can go back to despising AT&T for the next two years.

If I didn't know any better, I could have swore those were my exact words in that article. lol

lol True, but at least you will have a Note 2 to ease the despising pain.

As for the AT&T statement of the Optimus and how that affects the Note 2 from being release the same day as all the other carriers. Who's to say that the Note 2 will be actually in stores on the 25th.
Maybe its pre-order starting that date for all carriers.
Maybe AT&T will change its mind and deploy on the 25th as well.
Maybe other retailers will sell it that day as well.

Maybe I'm pulling your leg and talking to much. Who knows. :p

Is the SG4U admin referring to 10/25 for Sprint or AT&T? I know this is the AT&T thread but seems like he has info about Sprint?

CRAP, I just realized that this is the AT&T thread availability thread. lol Opps
and you are right that info is about the Sprint version.
my bad, sorry

The links point to Roberts post over at s4gru which is from his source that is quite reliable.

I wish I could like this more than once. Robert is usually on point. BGR who is pro apple once posted something Robert said then told his readers "take it with a grain of salt." Robert turned out to be correct; of course BGR didn't acknowledge that. Instead he posted again what Robert said but gave the credit to someone else.

Anyway, I JUST realized after talking to a friend that the 25th is next Thursday. For some reason I thought it was Tuesday and rescheduled my moms dr. appt so I could be at the store when it opens. Guess what day I rescheduled it for......Thursday. Wonder if it's too late to get her back on Tuesday? :p LOL!!!

Haha... Funny but not funny.

Just make a day of it and get one for her, too! :p

Just hung up with ATT customer service. She said they show nothing about the Note 2 being released 10/25. Refered to Samsung website saying November.

TS, you're a great admin, but you really got my hopes up there, haha. Hopefully we have some AT&T info soon. I've been drooling since early August over this device!!
