Where do you work? You can call customer service and have them search for a discount, or I can do it through our database.

One thing to note, and this actually might interest everyone, is that Sprint has just changed their Corporate discount policy as of the last week of March.

Any existing customers that already had discounts are not affected, unless they want to switch to a greater discount.

If a customer wants to add a discount to their account, every line on the account that will be discounted (i.e. excludes Simply Everything Plan and Mobile Broadband devices) will have its contract extended for two years. It will NOT affect your upgrade eligibility. Your contract will not be extended if that line is within 90 days of activation/upgrade.

I work for CPS = Chicago Public Schools. I put in my email address on the sprint site, and it said there was no discount. But it did the same thing to me when I was on VZW, and when I went into the VZW store they said they DID acknowledge CPS as a corporate partner.

eah Bill i dont think it would be amoled, if anything super, im trying to work on cracking this one now too
I would prefer TFT over AMOLED. Lately, people have been saying negative things about AMOLED, but Super-AMOLED is a different story. I won't be disappointed if the EVO comes with a TFT screen, but that seems old fashioned compared to all the other specs. I would even be willing to wait a little longer (but not a lot longer) to get Super-AMOLED. Just the thought about the missing screen type in the official specs makes me wonder...

Hey, I went to a Radioshack yesterday and took this pic, using my Curve. Sorry the image isn't very good. Good old 1.3mp camera, lol. I just wanted to get a side by side of the two, so we could all see how mych real-estate there was for portrait one handed texting. BAsed on this, the virtual kbd should be about the same size as the curve kbd. That really works for me :)

I agree - Samsung's Super AMOLED has gotten great reviews. The only thing is it gives Samsung an advantage in their own line of phones so I'd be surprised if they sold it to a competitor.

You forgot to include the pic! ;)

Could you have by chance been looking at Tmo's HD2?

I found this really nice video o fthe EVO in use. It's like any other overview of the phone, except he shows the back withuot the cover on; it's all red with a black battery. Everything is subject to change before release, though.

And do you see that BEAUTIFUL HQ video he plays in the end? It's very exciting to see!!

Just been lurking for a while. Here is another site that speculates an April release. I hope but I doubt it. Although May seems feasible.

Wow thats awesome. Ive always wanted to go to Japan. Who knows what kind of awesome phones you will see there too! Me too KRD, I'm definitely counting the days with the rest of you. I'm just glad after all the months of speculation and rumors that we know for a fact that it exists and we will have it in the near future. Feel bad for the Incredible folks. Although I did see on phonedog.com's main page that there are supposedly 150k Incredibles sitting in the warehouse waiting to be shipped. Dont know how much credibility there is behind it but whatever. Anyway, I also wanted to say hi to everyone. Im new here but not new to the tech world. Spent alot of time on the crackberry forums as well as Sprint.com where Jackson is coming to you from. You all seem like a good group of people and a few of you from right near me so I look forward to "shooting the sh*t" with all of you. :)

Hey Mateo - welcome to the forum. Just so happens "Mateo" is my middle name and my wife and I will pick Mateo as a boy's name if we decide to have another baby soon. Anyways, sorry to get off topic. Just wanted to welcome you on board

jackson,

on the spec sheet, it mentions having sprint navigation. this doesn't mean that google navigation will be left off of this phone, does it?

Speaking of the screen, I really can't find any concrete unbiased comparisons on this subject, but what are the pros and cons of TFT LCD and AMOLED?

It mostly* comes down to 3 factors:

1. power consumption
2. Material composition (durability, cost to manufacture etc, amt of materials to make)
3. Contrast ratio

AMOLED has these main advantages over TFT, but TFT still has advantages over AMOLED too (for now). I think wikipedia has a good basic entry on AMOLED that discusses a few of these factors:

i heard that google nav will be an app. i could be wrong though. but i do know that it will be on there.

Yep. I work at a University and when I started they told me there were specials through VZW and TMO so I didn't bother. Then one day I looked up my employer on that site and realized I had a 14% discount. Nothing amazing but money saved is money saved. It basically pays for the insurance.

I've been following the thread for a while (early single digit pages) but I have not posted anything, until now. First, thank yous to Bill for his work on the thread, Jackson for the constructive tidbits of info and excitement, and many others for their sense of "community" in sharing. I used to be on the Sprint Forums (lurker there too) and the bad mouthing and poor attitude was too much for me. I cannot wait to get rid of my Instinct which has served its purpose but needs to be replaced with a *real* phone!

OK, onto the question . . . a lot has been discussed in regards to AMOLED, TFT, etc. When I visit Android - Sprint ADP and looked at the specs I have noticed something odd. AMOLED is not in caps and it indicates that the screen will have "captive multi-touch" (not "capacitive" - like it does further down the page in the Hero section). This may a simple spelling error or it could be something else. Who knows?

Can't agree more. I used to go on there but if it's not spoiled bratty behavior like whining and crying and demanding new phones NOW! It's discrediting actual info because it doesn't fit what the poster wants to believe. When that board room video of the Incredible was going around I posted some photos comparing the video to both the Supersonic and Incredible pics and pretty much flat out showed it was the Incredible. People kept calling BS and ignoring the obvious evidence that had been hashed over multiple times, instead claiming that maybe they had completely redesigned the Supersonic...all because they really just wanted it to be a video of the SS. Not only that but I watch they way people there will just dog on someone like wjackson or others with actual info.

Bunch of childish people over there...I prefer forums like this that have a good deal of technical info as well as just the speculation/rumor stuff and when there are dry spells like now where we only have rumors to talk about, the conversation stays pretty civil even when we are arguing a point.

Yeah that's been discussed several times and personally it does look like a simple error (both the amoled and "captive") but people seem to over analyze it because it's from an official Sprint site. It's caused a lot of speculation, frustration, and mystery...but for me personally I'm brushing it off as a "Damn I'm tired of filling out these spec sheets for products. Those website maintenance guys keep giving me due dates...where was I...oh yeah amoled....cap...capac....no captive...whatever..." error

SENORMATT - please post more information from offtopic.com when you get it. Thanks again for posting that insight from one of HTC's test engineers and the specs on the touch sensor & camera image sensor. I'd love to hear more about the types of obstacles they are trying to overcome before launch

Thank you Doctor, for you comments and for your input. I'm glad you finally decided to speak out and I love your footer. As far as the misprint you mentioned, I believe that came from the developer site and there has been errors in their documents, i.e., they said the camera was 8MB instead of 8MP. Nonetheless, if you look at the "Official Specs" in post one, it says "4.3

Heck, this is my biggest concern to date with regard to this phone! :D I smile because I think others might not agree....but Google Nav is cool...and the thought that Sprint will put their own navigation makes me think they are going to keep a proprietary business model...where they try to control content and access. Someone please put me at ease...because I don't want a locked down phone or user experience. One of the great things about the Incredible for Verizon is that it was reported to be very open. Anyone care to comment?
