Root ( Port ) Galaxy 1.6 on the Behold 2 Final

Um, small problem, I seem to be missing a lot of the stock apps, like the Market for instance. Any ideas?

edit: Never mind, user error. I partitioned my SD backwards (or something weird like that). I got it all working.
 
I just installed R7 and after the download my phone shuts off and doesn't turn on again until I take the battery out. I have ODIN 2 times already and don't know what to do!! help!

Update:

Had to wipe the Ext2 from the SD card and then it worked....

I'm having the same problem and i'm supposed to be meeting my wife for lunch in an hour... lol

Just went back to stock but didn't wipe my ext2. Hopefully this next attempt will work.

EDIT: Yeah, no love... something on the ext2 is making it mad. I pulled the card for now and that lets it boot. I'll have to clear ext2 when i get back home.
 
Hm, one thing I haven't seen in a long time return is the static that the Behold 2 update had..
it doesn't bother me that much, just something I wanted to point out? I hadn't had that in a long while.
 
I had the same problem installing R6 with the whole wipe/partition sd card. I tried 3 different times without wiping at first and it would bootloop, then shut off no matter what. The last time I repartitioned and it worked without a hitch. It's just a pain backing up SD card.
 
Just FYI

I had to boot the phone with the sd out and turn on usb debugging.
I rebooted the phone with the card in and of course it locked up after the android logo (black screen, power button doesn't respond).

Then I did:

adb kill-server
adb shell
cd system/sd
rm -r dalvik-cache
rm -r app-private
reboot

The phone rebooted and worked.
I tried just dalvik-cache first and it still locked up so either popadot or droid mini-golf was the culprit since those were the only two things in app-private.

Issue Regarding Sleep Bug..... = Charge Phone While Off for Now... or Reboot After Charging!

To sum up, I'm pretty tired of the testing, I shall remain on JC6 no matter what and simply look out for the bug to appear. I'm used to checking the sleep percentage anyway, as I look out for poorly written apps. And when it appears, I'll just reboot and it will go away.

Hopefully, of course, it will be fixed after couple of releases, that is if Samsung know about it! As depending on how they are testing the firmwares, they may not be aware of it.

Just check frequently (especially, after unplugging the charger or USB cable) for sleep time via Spare Parts (get it from the Market), and if the phone does not sleep - reboot to avoid the drain.

wow, so many posts and threads i dont know where to begin....ok im a noob but im not technically challenged....

from what it looks like i tether the behold 2 to the computer, then install odin.... now for windows 7 is there anything special i need to know? will the computer auto detect the drivers for the phone when i plug it in?

now bh_man you are the man when it comes to this amazing job just by reading the forums you have put in a great deal of time...its cause of these posts i went with a behold 2 for my upgrade.... only 4 androids avail this was the best i thought, since you cant upgrade to the nexus one without buying it direct from google....

so from what i can tell this removes the stupid twiz software that samsung shot their self in the foot with to conflict with the fantastic droid o/s... is this rom a theme? or your trying to get galaxy perfectly on the phone no bugs? or is this your own creation? in the end i just want to get rid of that stupid twiz....

my phone should be coming via ups mon-tue next week... i just want to know what to do when it comes....

1. You need to install the Samsung USB Driver's for phone to work.
2. No Twiz, this is the Galaxy Rom ported.
3. No, It's Samsung... I just Made it work on the BH2
4. Samsung Firmware with Edit's done by Me..

The Rom is currently the BASE android 1.6 (with some enhancements). Already an improvement over the faults and flaws of 1.5. You get all the cool toys the G1 and My touch 3G users have had for a while.
 
ok , so do the update on the page or the full flash?

and in that zip file you said there is the phones drivers that will work on windows 7?

once i do the update i can do your latest R release

Can we get a link(s) in the OP, on how to setup our SD cards for a2sd. I'm still sitting on R4 and want to upgrade. Also has anyone determined if a class 4 card is ok?
