-yea.. no guarantees on a date but for reference, the devour showed up as the calgary in the cellebrite about a week before it was released. I will still continue to bug my source tho..

-a cellbrite machine is something vzw uses to transfer numbers and photos between phones...

EDIT :-still no guarantees they call it the incredible but as it gets closer its looking better and better

You may not have looked at this, but do you happen to know when the Devour went from Calgary to Devour in that system? Was it before the official Announcment or the more likely scenario was changed to Devour After the official announcement, but before the release?

It has other carriers phones listed on there because if a sprint customer came in to a Verizon store and wanted to sigh up with Verizon they would be able to transfer their info from their sprint phone onto their Verizon phone.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

LOOKEY WHAT I FOUND!!! I did a little digging today and found that the cellebrite machine needed to be updated... no big deal. So after the update I checked for our baby and low and behold!!! IT WAS THERE!!!. So what does this mean??? It means that WE ARE CLOSE TO RELEASE!!!! Just another nail in the coffin. here is the pic for proof...

sorry if this has been posted already..

This is a true representation of what the cellbrite display screen looks like in retail.

Having a source check his all cellbrite machine for me for confirmation. He will also check OLT system for online trainings.

Maybe the major sites are gonna be a little gunshy about automatically posting information from this thread to their sites after last night's debacle. I give it till 2:00 Central time.

kcoan3, There have been rumors that the N1 will relaese at the same time as the Incredible and that it will be serviced in-store. Can you confirm whether or not the N1 is in the Cellebrite system at this time?

Additionally, I use my phone for business. I cannot tolerate ONE DROPPED CALL!

Until 2000 I was with Cingular (now ATT), I was shocked that there were people actually getting service INSIDE STORES! Turns out it was VZ customers. I've switched and have never looked back. If I get one dropped call in two months, now, I'm peeved. ;)

Finally, VZ has been very, very good to me. They've bent over backwards to help me out when I've done stupid things, such as losing my xv 6900. They gave me another one for a two year contract price just 4 months after I got the original one at the two year contract price!!!

They've done several things like that for me. I know that I am a high paying customer, who pays on time, etc, but they really have bent over backwards. They just never had the good smartphones, until now.

They are now teasing us with two or three state of the art phones. I can't wait. Literally. I can't. Am I complaining about not getting the Incredible, bitterly? Uh huh. Do I love VZ. I do.

I get it Steven....and understand you have multiple phones with your entire family on Verizon. For you it probably doesn't make sense. That's why I said...it's not going to be for everyone. But for some...in a WiMax area...it may be a killer deal! And as far as dropped calls...I exaggerated a bit to be fair....but I probably only get about 1 or 2 calls at most dropped per month. I'm not even sure that has been because of Sprint since I work at a job where there can be a bit of interference.

Btw....I've only been scanning the threads here today. I've really enjoyed the people, the sleuths, and the humor here. And I am still very curious about the Incredible. So anyway....I scanned and saw a lot of talk about hdmi. I assume it's already been mentioned...but the EVO 4G has this capability too. Really, if that phone were coming to Verizon....a good many of you would be wetting themselves. For people like me...happy with Sprint...it's an alternative. I'm still not sure about the larger size and how that will feel in hand...but I'm leaning that way. And it looks like you guys are getting your phone soon. And to be honest....I may break down and join you...been waiting a long time. But my lust over WiMax and a cheaper plan is very real. Anyway, I won't bore you with this anymore. I just think a few people here...NOT EVERYONE....would be quite surprised to see the new videos of the EVO and how much it is a very cool phone. Back to lurking...Adios! :)

Used in store to transfer data from old phone to new phone
Okej, I get what Cellebrite is now.

If I understand it correctly, the list shows possible phones to transer data to/from? or is it some kind of history of latest transfers?

And someone with access to the Cellebrite device at Verizon has taken a picture of it?

This would be bad news cause according some comments on that link this was a repost of an earlier siting back in October. Devour just came out last month and showed up in Cellebrite 5 months prior to release. :(

"Sholes" (early codename for Droid) and "Calgary" (Devour) showed up at the same time on the Cellebrite, according to the old articles. Droid launched 3 weeks later, while the Devour launched months later.

MY INTERPRETATION: Both phones were ready around the same time, but VZW decided to do a timed launch for some reason. This seems to just be a good indicator that the phone is ready to launch, not that VZW is ready to launch the phone. Still good to know, nonetheless!

I don't know about history, but the rest is correct

correct me if I'm wrong....

(and sorry if I'm getting OT on this as this is moot since apparently the Incredible won't have HDMI, so I promise this is my last post pertaining to this!!)

...but if we were to purchase a 32 Gb micro SD card for the phone and just keep a few videos stored on there at a time, there shouldn't be any problem in storing them in their native resolution and replaying them in their full glory on a HDTV?

No so long as there's a program to decode it and the bitrate isn't too high for the phone. It may be at this time that full res movies are too much for the hardware. I really don't know. I do know the PSP had problems with that.

Oper MINI 5 loads it in like 20 seconds or less and renders it pretty well. No flash support but it's teh fastest browser I've found for the Omnia. You can find it on Opera's website and they recently developed a native Windows mobile App so no Java needs to be installed first.

TY!! Using it now. makes the phone tolerable for the next few weeks.

Agreed, at the same time Verizon was launching a whole marketing campaign around Droid's release. If they don't do anything super special like that for the Incredible, I'd imagine we could see her sooner than later, within a week or two tops I'd hope.

and my souce submitted that photo to android central....:D:D

So that cellebrite photo, was released Jan 21? -so the INC has been in the system that long?

That'd put our INC in the system for about as long as the Devour prior to release if we get a late April launch

the N1 is in the cellbrite.. but it could just be in there because its avaliable on other carriers. and we have know idea if it will be serviced in stores..

my bet is no

A retail store manager of mine has said the N1 will not be sold in stores. As far as support, she said that she hasn't received that info.

which leads me to ask, now that things are headed in a positive direction:

What browser do you all plan on using for the Incredible?

What would be the most functional?

Meaning:

I've always used Firefox for the computer, found it to be infinitely superior to IE. But I hear all kinds of browsers being bandied about lately....
