Root Rooted..stuck on HTC screen after random shutoff

so a few months ago i rooted my bros phone using mik3d-rc1-signed rom recently his phone turned off randomly and when attempting to turn it on it stays on the htc screen, so i got it went into bootloader to reflash it but recovery gets the htc screen stuck on for eternity to. ill try reflashing recovery later but i wanted to get your opinion first.

So when you try to access recovery, it goes to the HTC screen? As in, cannot access recovery?

The phone is off, I have no idea what s-on or s-off is
No problem, do you know how to access the bootloader screen?
There are instructions at the beginning of this guide on how to do that but that would be the method to install a new recovery.

Go to the beginning of the guide, and to install a recovery, click on the "show" button of the HTC DEV method and scroll down to step 2--"How to Get Recovery" to install a recovery via one of the 3 methods listed.

Just make sure you first set up as listed there if you use the adb method to install recovery.

the setup
you will need to download these files:
adb.exe
fastboot.exe
AdbWinApi.dll
HTC Sync 3.0.5551
Java Runtime Environment (JRE)
make sure that you have htc sync installed and that you have the latest java running.

You can skip the unlock bootloader method.:)

What method did you choose to root your EVO?

Does your screen just stay put or does it flash off and back on after a few seconds?

How long did you leave the screen on before pulling the battery?

The phones unlocked and has (should have) the recovery from the htcdev method but when turningt on it just stays on htc screen (waited 10 minutes) and when going to recovery it does the same thing. I think it might had a virus that wiped it but idk its my brothers phone he prob got viruses from watching to much porn

It's gonna be insanely difficult to help you properly unless you can get to the bootloader and tell us about your phone.

If all else fails, try to run the RUU for that hboot and radio combo. Might work.

Also do you know what Rom was on the phone when it went into the bootloop?

Hopefully it wasn't CM9
