SENORMATT - please post more information from offtopic.com when you get it. Thanks again for posting that insight from one of HTC's test engineers and the specs on the touch sensor & camera image sensor. I'd love to hear more about the types of obstacles they are trying to overcome before launch

- hows touchscreen compare to the iphone?

"Better.. at least in my opinion. No scientific test but just from experience with both."

"I finally understand the kickstand... I've got this thing kickstand'd up on my night stand listening to Pandora.. no muffled sound from sitting flat..."

A couple of guys on there said it's a TFT screen but I couldn't confirm whether they have a source - the Android guy hasn't responded yet.

Bestbuy has an ad for the evo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Uploading screenshot!! Go to mobile phones!

You forgot to include the pic! ;)

Could you have by chance been looking at Tmo's HD2?

Oh, I totally should have said this was the HD2. I posted in a hurry. what was I thinking? lol.

I am not sure what you mean about not including the pic. are you not seeing the image?

Wow glad to see advertising already! Forget media blitz, this will probably be an all-out assault. I wonder if they'll come up with a slogan like Verizon did with "Droid Does"

Oh this would suck long and hard but notice the article said the EVO was set to launch in late April. Perhaps Sprint and HTC already provided for this crap in advanced.

I'm sure development on the EVO 4G will continue regardless...Apple is getting really annoying now lol. Interesting and funny that they are getting sued by another company for multi-touch.

I hate steve Jobs, he can steal tech in the late 80's, but heaven forbid someone borrow some tech from him (though i dont even think they did)

god i know apple is pissing me off. they say they want competition, well stop barricading the door that competition comes through!!!!!! it pisses me off that they think just because another company didn't patent it first that it's theirs for the taking... STEVE JOBS GO TO HELL you piss me off so damn much, if i ever see you i will politely walk up to you, knock the shit out of you right in the nose, then calmly walk away... just the kind of person i am lol

There was one brilliant comment after Jobs got his liver transplant...it said something like "Oh great. So you can open Steve Jobs and replace his liver but you can't open an iPhone to replace the battery"

Those things drag out in court and end up with money paid and features discontinued or altered. The article saying that phone production is halted was either linkbait or an April Fool's joke.

I completely missed this thread. It has renewed my excitement even more! Here's to a May release!!!

Sprint wil be getting the LG aloha, which is a handset that is slightly better than the moto droid. It will have keyboars, great resolution, and android 2.1

HTC Evo as of right now has an LCD display. May release at Best buy ik for a fact, sprint stores are a maybe but definetly early june release

There seems to be conflicting stories here about the Apple Sauce mess, so at this point there's no sense in getting hung up about it. Until something is said officially by Sprint or someone else of authority on the subject, I don't think we should worry about it. What I read before was this thing could go on for years, but more than likely it will be settled out of court. No doubt Mr. Jobs would like to stall the release of the EVO 4G, but I highly doubt HTC and Sprint would be moving forward the way they are if they thought the lawsuit was going to cause problems. That's my 2 cents.

I'm not worried about apple at all. Nothing is going to stop the Evo from reaching the masses.

The whole thing is like Ford trying to sue GM for manufacturing cars. It makes no sense whatsoever.

Heck, this is my biggest concern to date with regard to this phone! :D I smile because I think others might not agree....but Google Nav is cool...and the thought that Sprint will put their own navigation makes me think they are going to keep a proprietary business model...where they try to control content and access. Someone please put me at ease...because I don't want a locked down phone or user experience. One of the great things about the Incredible for Verizon is that it was reported to be very open. Anyone care to comment?
Google Navigation won't come preinstalled on the EVO 4G, but it will be available in the Android Market. I believe Android 2.1 is required or I would have downloaded it already to my HTC Hero. That phone (Hero) is supposed to get upgraded from 1.5 to 2.1 very soon, so I'll give it a try as soon as I get the update. Just think about how many unhappy customers Sprint would have on their hands if they couldn't get Google Navigation to work with the EVO 4G. Can you imagine how well Street View will work on this device? Oh, Man!!

Google Nav is definitely on there Bill, it was on the demo units at CTIA and to me that means that it will be on shipping units. Sprint Navigation is on there also, but it's just another option.

I think you're right mogulust, but I was thinking about Froyo and how most of the fluff is going to be stripped. That way, people can decide what they want for themselves.
