Root camera/video not working, keep force closing

Hi -

My Evo 4G is rooted -- have been running one of those CM7 nightlies for the past 6 months - never had an issue with the camera until few weeks ago - it just would not work again, it keeps force closing. I've tried rebooting, hard resets, wiped all three (dalvik, cache and data), flashed to the stable CM 7.2, still no go on the camera.. just switched to Amun recovery, did wipes four times and now am running on MIG 3.11, still no camera..

If there's any solution to this, please let me know as soon as possible... my son's birthday is coming up and I would love to have my camera back up and working again.

Much appreciated.

Welcome to AF!!
Moved you to the "All things Root" section as you are rooted.
Now that you are on MikG, does your camera still force close or just not work at all?

Not at all unfortunately
o.k..so when you open the camera or video camera app do you just get a black screen?

Perhaps try this, press on the camera lens firmly with your thumb until you hear a slight click...sometimes the lens dislodges and just needs to be snapped back into place.:)

sometimes just a black screen, it would not allow me to press back to exit the app.. I'd need to press the home button to get out.. well, well, now it's working.. I haven't had to press on the camera lens. I'll keep an eye on it and will reach out again if this issue pops up.. many thanks for trying though! Appreciate it.
