Apologies for the lengthy post ahead of time. So I've been waiting on this phone for awhile and about a month and a half ago I had my mom ask her friend (who works at a corporate office out of state) if she knew anything about the incredible. She told her that she didn't know much about it aside from rumors. I just kind of left it at that after that. Then I'm reading all these people saying "O, this verizon rep told me this, and was winking and flashed his flashlight at me in morse code of the release date." So I've been going to several verizon wireless CORPORATE stores to see if I could get anything. I got absolutely nothing from any of them, like so many have said before, it seemed like I knew more about it than any of them. Now that all this info has been coming up I decided to have my mom ask her friend one more time. My mom gave me her response just a little bit ago. She apparently said that we should expect to hear SOME kind of official announcement before the end of this upcoming week. She also said that nothing is written in stone, it being verizon and all. She didn't specify whether they'd be announcing a release date or not, just that we'd hear something about it. I'm hoping that what she said sticks, ANY kind of official acknowledgment on Verizons end would be awesome.

There must be something.... surely they are not going to put up posters of the nexus 1 in their windows to draw people in the store and then tell them.... oh... sorry you have to order that phone online through google... but we have the devour!!

It's Verizon and they seem to be run by drunk monkeys so that might be exactly what they are thinking.

Daily Recap:

1. 15 more VZW reps say within 2 weeks
2. Phone is in the Cellbrite system (confirmed 4-5 maybe more times)
3. If we were britain, Steven58 would be our king. (No real power, but we respect him)
4. TheGoatLantern is our resident perve

Did I miss anything?

Yes, a round of beer for everyone c/o our King Steven58!

I have learned something from all of this. Next time I hear Verizon is releasing something at CTIA, my next question will be, "What year?"

Ha! You couldn't have put it any better.

As I have been trolling this forum since page 4 I have thought how crazy this all seems. Then I remembered waiting month after month for Verizon to release the BB Curve 2 years ago after envying all of my coworkers who had already had it for months on another carrier.

While I can respect Verizon for making sure these devices release free of bugs (mostly), I really resent how they leave their loyals hanging for, not just the cool devices that the other carriers have, but any word or mention of the devices timeframe to reach daylight. At least give us something to count down for. If you like the element of surprise, go ahead and tell us it will be out in mid-May, then release in mid-April. Just give us something.:(

Ok, so I have been lurking around here on the forum since CTIA when I first heard about the Incredible but this is my first post. It seems like it has been forever since CTIA.

I like the forum and I want to thank everyone for the tid-bits of information.

I haven't seen this reported anywhere yet but I may have missed it. I was rummaging around the Verizon corporate website earlier and came across the fact that 4 April 2010 is the 10th Anniversary of the merger of Bell Atlantic Mobile and Vodafone Airtouch. Making this Sunday the 10th Anniversary of the founding of the company. What a great time to announce a couple of new phones...

Well if you are trying to avoid nonsense this is not the place.
There is about 10 total pages of credible info here and I have been here for it all.
True credible info is like seeing bigfoot, you better have a camera when you see it and even then half the people wont believe you.

I was in my local Verizon store and overheard the HTC rep telling the store mgr he was heading to the Green-Hornet warehouse to pick up the new super-phone. He mentioned that it's been stressful lately because he feels like he's being stalked by Incredible extremists. He said he has to take evasive maneuvers to shake anyone that may be following him.

So, I did my best Hawaii 5-0 imitation and tried not to be seen in my large green & yellow polka-dot cargo van. Just when I thought he was about to enter the top-secret warehouse, he turned and spotted me, ruining my undercover mission.

I'll report back if I am able to pick up his trail again - wish me luck :D

It wasn't morse code, it was smoke signals. :p

Actually it was a secret code...my buddy who works at Verizon told me that we should expect to see the translator key released two weeks or so from now. Or at least an official announcement pertaining to the release of said translator key.

:D

Pretty much the gist of what I said, except the code wasn't in regards to anything incredible....well, the phone at least.

Today I went to Trader Joe's, which is right next to a Verizon Wireless store. I didn't go in the VZW store, but I did ask a TJ's manager which type of Greek yogurt he liked best. I was amazed when he not only acknowledged its existence and gave me a recommendation (Apricot Mango) but the yogurt was actually in stock! I thought for sure he would tell me I could maybe get it in two weeks.

So I got some and now I'm eating it and OMG it's absolutely INCREDIBLE.

OK if mahsan88 said the sales rep said MAY-JUNISH (I need a phone now) and the Nexus One might come out Monday (or atleast much sooner).....should I just go ahead and get the Nexus? I know the Incredible is gonna be out of this world fantastic....but it is REALLY that much better than the N1? I know a lot of people say the N1 isn't as sexy....but I think it looks gorgeous. Would I really be losing much if I got the N1 rather than wait? I bought the Droid the other night and it will be getting her Monday, so I have 30 days from there (can obviously wait for the N1 but not the Incredible). I'm just so torn on whether to just keep the Droid, go for the N1, or cancel everything and wait a long time with my broken phone. Can anyone give me some advice? Thanks

I got my wife an Eris. I knew she would be happy with it because that 's what some of the girls at work have. The good part is, I get to play with it(the phone) while going through the excruciating process of waiting for the Incredible. :D
I'm going to do the same. What do you think so far?

All depends on whether you want sense ui. Looks are a matter of opinion. The other big thing for me is service. I VZW is giving in store service for the N1 then it really doesn't make that much of a difference. Personally, I think the incredible looks better and I love sense.

This is soooooo frustrating:

*When I first started reading about this phone... it was suppopsed to come out in
2 weeks;CTIA.

*Then when that didn't happen it was 2 weeks

*Then the next week it was 2 weeks

*Yesterday... 2 weeks... or 30-90 days if you believe the guy I talked to at verizon.. but the guy on the phone said... a couple more weeks

Doesn't anyone have a concept of 2 weeks?... that is 14 days. So in my estimation this phone should have been out..... 3 weeks ago. I am so hoping that the commercials will start running THIS weekend for a release on Tuesday 4/6!!! It's my story and I am stickin to it. Really...anyone who wanted the moto droid has it by now... anyone that wants the Eris has it....NO ONE wants the Palm. Blackberries... are the news of last decade. Time for a fresh lineup!!!

pssh I've been hearing 2 weeks since december. Saying 2 weeks even with rock solid "proof" means absolutely nothing imo.

Well all want to see a pic of one girl's rack?!!?

One thing I know the Droid can do that other touch screens cant (because it has a keyboard) is play games or use apps that require both touchscreen and keyboard. I forget the term, but my VZW rep had the Eris and said as much as he loved it, he was getting the Droid so he could play sonic and other cool games (we're both young and in college and want to have something to do while ignoring our teachers). Does anybody know the name of what that method of getting those games that aren't in the phone automatically? It's not just downloading...I think it was an "A" word...he went to the market place or something I believe and typed it in, then typed in Sonic from Sega and BOOM, there it was. He said I could even get Super Mario 3 and whatnot....can anyone think of what I'm talking about? Sorry, im new to smartphones lol.

I'm thinking of getting the nexus one now. It has the same stuff incredible has with some exceptions like the camera.

Depends if the incredible ever comes out.

Bottom line is I want an HTC phone with the android OS that has built in GPS with no additional fees to use it..

Alright so i just got back from my Verizon Wireless store (Corporate) and this is how the story went down...

Rep 1: Hi, How may i help you?
Me: (looking at the DROID) Yeeaaaahh.... Well i was wondering if you guys had any new smartphones coming out?
Rep 1: Not soon, no.
Me: What about any HTC phones?
Rep 1: Well, there is the Nexus One, which is Google branded but manufactured by HTC, that should be coming out soon.
Me: Anything other than that?
Rep 1: Hmmm, i don't think so...
Me: What about the HTC Incredible?
Rep 1: Yes.. i have heard of that one *looks over to another rep and says* hey Michael (made up name, i forgot his real name lol) do you know anything about the Incredible?
Rep 2: Yeah.. i have heard that it is supposed to be a monster, but i have yet to see it in my hand.
Me: Do you know when it might come out?
Rep 2: I believe it is May Jun-ish!
Me: WHAT?! Are you serious? It is almost as if the Nexus One and Incredible are never going to come out.
Rep 2: Well, the Nexus One should be out very soon, the reason for the delay was because there were 3g issues so we wanted to release it without any problems. And the Incredible is taking a while because they had to wait for 2.1 to come out and then upgrade their Sense UI to work properly on the phone.

Now the interesting part....
1) The reps both said Nexus One coming out soon, so maybe Monday is probable.
2) This Verizon store is in the mall and always has the windows covered with advertisement, mostly DROID. Today; NOTHING! It was just to bare! It has me thinking that the Incredible might be releasing soon because Verizon stores only advertise their flagship phone. Since November 2009, that has been DROID and those posters have stayed there until now. I believe that the Incredible MUST be coming out soon.. i am really looking forward to next week. I think we should have some good news.

I likies the sound of that!!! :)

Thats part of the reason why I dont mind waiting a lil longer. They dont wanna have the issues they had with N1. I'd rather them perfect the phone. But waiting till may or june would suck! hopefully we'd get at least a release date before then if that happens

Also...Are you sure they dont mean just a release date and concrete specs in two weeks???

Dude, my upgrade has been waiting since April 2009!!
I have been stuck with the LG Dare, and if i can wait that long man, so can you. On my book, the Incredible second to none. the ONLY thing that would make me drop it from the list would be an OFFICIAL announcement of the HTC EVO on Verizon or Moto Shadow. But at this rate, that is probably going to happen next year -_-

Just wait it out man. You are not the only one.
