Sprint Jellybean Update - Rollout Begins 10/25!

Its never by customer location. I'm not sure where everyone is getting this from

I think it started early on in Android's life. Some people in the same area got an update and posted that they got the update from <location XYZ> and it's been stuck in forum legend ever since.

Either that, or someone heard from some CSR that they update by city and told the customer that their city isn't selected, yet. Mostly to get the customer to hang up and stop calling asking why they haven't gotten the OTA, yet.

All done got JB 4.1.1 working on baseband update :D

CONGRATULATIONS!

I'm D/L(from XDA link) it now, directly to the phone, using the stock browser.

So, all I should have to do is go into ANDROID RECOVERY & install, correct?

I have never done the upgrade that way so I'm the wrong guy to help you with that. But good luck

Used to do it all the time w/my HUAWEI ASCEND. Been a while though, but, if it shows up in ANDROID RECOVERY to install, it's on. :D

Does anyone know if there are any risks/downsides to manually updating JB via flashing the download found on at this site - Your way to Update... - versus waiting for the OTA update? Any at all (possibility of corrupt download/your flash count goes up/baseband issues)?

I'm willing to wait, but if there is no downside, I may as well just flash it right now.
