If it really is coming at the end of the month I should just buy an Eris with the full intention of returning it right before the 30 days are up, just to spite Verizon. They'll be steamrolled by new iPhone hype (+ EVO) if they wait that long. Ridiculous.

For 20-30 days. Then EVO, probably for the next 11-12 months.

So you can either buy the second best phone available on the best network or the best phone available on the second best network. Since i'll still be using this primarily to make phone calls, im sticking with the Incredible.

despite all the rumors the iphone won't be coming to verizon any time soon. apple is too innovative and ahead of the curve to go into the iphone and make it so it can be used on a "lesser" technology even if verizon has a bigger network than at&t.

edit: i hope the iphone DOESN'T come to verizon as i don't want all the iphone douches and fanboys following it to VZW.

ok 28th isnt the 17th but its just good to hear an actual date, so i know what i am waiting for lol...It says additional tho? Maybe the Shadow is coming early..lol or maybe it means other regarding the Devour. All i know is the incredible is one of them and im ready!!! i keep having dreams about Moto Droids but have been refraining from posting them!

Is it just me, or is this thread getting ridiculous lol? I think some key person from verizon needs to just glance at this thread and realize what they're doing to us... and either release the phone, or throw a date out in the air or something before we all go crazy on this 400 + thread lol.

Actually, maybe they should just give us all a discount on our next phone purchase for being so damn obsessed lol (maybe I'm only speaking for myself, but yeah, obsessed...)

I 2nd this plus am I the only one that thinks 4.3" screen size is kind of excessive for a MOBILE PHONE? Where does it stop? soon phones won't fit in our pockets any more and we'll all be going around with.....:gasp:.......iPads!

The addiction MAY end after the phone comes out OR it could get worse as we share our experiences with our new toys!

aaaahhh!!!!!! please don't say MAY! we're hoping for april. but yeah, i guess "the addiction april end after the phone...." just doesn't work.

I know it won't be released on Verizon this summer, but if you're Verizon you should be motivated to get your hot new phone out as soon as possible before the phones that outclass yours (Evo, probably the new iPhone) get close to release. That time is right now, not a month from now. Of course, we know Verizon doesn't operate with any sort of logic so what I'm saying doesn't matter.

Yeah its crazy ... I mean, the EVO is a whopping 6 millimeters wider than the Incredible, and a whole 3 millimeters longer.

(Note: EVO size comparison made to Nexus One, which should be essentially the same size as the Incredible. Unfortunately, no reliable Incredible size specs are available since the phone hasn't even been announced yet. ;))

Phones that will barely fit in the pockets off slip-on hoodies, that's the future. It's like a reverse bell curve, from big bulky bricks to tiny pads, to tall and wider pads.

You misread my point. I was quoting the other guy and agreeing that switching to Sprint for an extra .6 inches of screen size wasn't worth it considering the Incredible has a generous amount. The Evo is a nice phone but not worth it at the cost of coverage.

To everyone that is a Sprint fanboy and says Sprint roams on Verizon's towers and gets as good reception. You're completely wrong. The reason why is if that were truly the case then why wouldn't everyone just switch to Sprint and pay less and roam on VZ's towers. Cause it just isn't happening for all of the services. You roam on VZ's towers only to gain the basic ability to make a call and nothing else. Enjoy your mobile phone equivalent of a Lambo LP640 stuck in gridlocked traffic while VZ enjoys a modest 430 Modena on the autobahn.

Notice how it says ADDITIONAL android launch??? Hmmmm... why would you say additional if you weren't launching 2 androids in the same month? maybe this is the nexus since it has been widely publicized that it will come in spring and the incredible will still come sooner!!

P.S we dont have anything like that on our calander

I interpreted it as additional to the android phones they have already launched, the droid and eris.

I knew I got bestbuy insurance for a reason! If my Droid were to "accidentally" break beyond repair I get the cost of a new Droid towards any phone of my choice. Isn't that just INCREDIBLE. I really want his phone and it is making me regret buying the Droid on launch day. Then again the m button not working on my curve was becoming problematic.

The discussion was about hardware, not carrier. Carrier discussions would be off-topic in this thread (not that anyone cares).

Besides, no one cares what some carrier is like where you live, work and play. They care about what the carrier is like where they live, work and play. I happen to live in a city where Sprint is rated as more reliable than Verizon service, and we're swimming in 4G here too.

Also, the "Sprint fanboy" stuff is unneeded. I'm a Verizon customer and have been for over 15 years.

I am getting really impatient waiting for Incredible or even Nexus One. I am thinking of going with Motorola Droid and it appears that they are ridiculously cheap at Best Buy and Walmart compared to the Verizon store.

The only thing is, I am ready for NE2, but am on a two-line plan and am not sure if purchases outside of the VZW store can handle the NE2 updates/upgrades without messing up the current plan I already have with my Blackberry Curve.

Has anyone purchased a 2 year renewal at one of these places?

I really should just be patient, but I just don't know. :p

Google really wants me bad:eek::eek:

This is our most desperate hour. Help me, HTC; you're my only hope.

I've only known about the release date for 6 minutes and it's already been delayed another day!!!!

So according to the picture, the reset is slated for the 28th .. . so wouldn't that mean release on the 29th? This would correspond to the marketing ploy of a "long weekend" (thursday thru sunday) to boost sale figures (as posted earlier in the day from another poster whom speculated a thursday release date based upon his/her experience in marketing. So 29th or 28th? I say 29th . . . one more day sorry!

Ok, I have printed off the pics by lajboys and I am going into my Verizon store this evening to gets some info. I will bait them first with the Samsung Reality snapshot 1st. I would think this phone is not top secret since it is a step down from Samsung Rogue. Then, when they confirm that it is coming that date, I will pull at the other pic for Additional Android Handset on the 28th and see what they say.

I think the key is to bait them and if we get enough people on here to head to the corporate stores. Heck they might be even pull the Samsung Reality out to let you play with it. Just play along then because the bait is taken.

Keep in mind if they don't know anything about the Samsung Reality I will not even show the Additional Android handset pic.

I work till 7PM tonight and will head there for some Incredible News!

You seem to be arguing two different points in one post. Is the screen too big for you, or the phone?

I happen to think the EVO/HD2 form factor is quite simply a smarter, more efficient use of space and I would welcome the huge 0.6" jump in screen size. (Then again, I own and love a 12.1" "netbook" too). The best part is the phone itself is only marginally larger, so the pocket-ability will not suffer. It is a better screen-to-chassis ratio, and a better design IMHO.

I would love to step up from my feature phone Dare to Android, but more and more I am feeling like I will wait for a 4.3" screen running Android on Verizon. Whether that be the Moto Shadow, HTC Venture, or something else I don't know. I have played with the Droid several times and while I thought going from my 3.1" Dare to the 3.7" Droid would give me the "WOW" impression, in reality I came away with a luke-warm "that's OK" feeling. If rumors of the Shadow heat up for this summer (my NE2 is up mid-June) I might sit back and pass on the Incredible. My girlfriend desperately needs a new phone so I might get plenty of hands-on time with the Incredible soon anyways. ;)

I returned a phone to amazon and they said they would send a form to verizon so I could get my upgrade back. does anyone know how long that process takes?
