Help G1 tethering to Macbook?

I see a way to do it is with the rooted G1 tether procedure but is there a different way to do it? Is there a wifi tether app for the mac like there is for the PC?

I have black MacBook and I tether mine all the time. I use an app called Wifi Tether and it works really well. You will have to root your phone and search for the app on the interwebs as Google removed it from the Market. Other then that I am unsure how to you would tether your Mac to the G1 and get internet from it...that is what you are asking right?

Yeah, I rooted my phone and have that app installed. I'll give it a try. Thanks.

Update: I got my Mac and PC borh running tethered from my G1! It was extremely simple and I didnt even have to get into command windows and forward ports etc..

It looks like this may be a newer version of the tethering app that does not require all the mumbo jumbo to be done to the pc's it will run on..

I'm on a macbook pro (no snow leopard, yet...) and I want to use my 3g connection of the g1 to access the internet. the thing is I tried Wifi Tether but I didn't get it to run. Shouldn't the G1 act as a hotspot so I can connect and surf?

One method is tethering but requires a root phone althought even then not sure that the mac will be happy ???

thanks for the answer, yep g1 is rooted, but I don't know which app to use or more how to use them(couldn't get to work any)

Thanks for the link! I tried this already, the thing is I want the cell phone data to use with my macbook. For that I'd need tether blu pro, I'd buy it if I were sure that it works

Anyone ever figure a work around for using "wifi Tether for Root users" version 1.52 with snow leopard?
