Goodness Gracious...the news here today has been AWESOME! I'm more excited than ever now...thanks Jackson!

+1 on Monoprice cables....high quality, low price. Same advice you'll get in more than a few home theater forums. Don't waste your money elsewhere.

Okay...so back to the news. Man o man! Sounds like we could have something before June if I read the wink wink correctly! And, if the EVO 4g comes to WiMax....then the iPhone 4G....I totally agree with Bill. In fact, it's gonna be a a bit of a game changer. I think this is when people will finally start to take notice of what Sprint is doing. ESPECIALLY, if the reviews are highly positive. Hey Bill, I'm finally and firmly in the EVO camp now! :D

Happy Easter Forum Peeps!

Cool, I'm glad you're with us andrion. It won't be long now and we'll all have our spankin' brand new devices. Can't wait! :)

This is a quote from the article Jackson gave us this morning:

The Nexus One Sprint is expected to debut in a couple of months, giving the Verizon Nexus One a good head start in signing up customers interested in the Google phone. But now news that Nexus One killer, the HTC Supersonic, is set to be released by Sprint any day now, gives Verizon a small window of opportunity to grab potential customers.
This article was from OZCARguide and I have to question their information. First of all, the called the phone the Supersonic and second, they said it would be released by Sprint any day now. At this point, I believe it will be any month now, not any day.

Phones use Micro SD cards not regular SD cards, Micro SD cards are more expensive and it's pretty dang hard to find a 32GB card yet.
16GB cards can be found for under $40.
I know phones use micro sd I used to be in the cellular industry. i was pretty sure where I was looking was micro but I may be wrong. At any rate I found some Kingston 32gb micro sd on eBay for about $80 or so but you have to watch some say lot of 2 32gb but they are really 2 16gb cards you have to read the fine print lol.

Can someone clarify for me the previous mention of needing Froyo for 4G to work. Is this correct? It would seem to me this would be hardware related. Of course, the full function and speed of 4G as it relates to web sites might be dependent on the software....correct? The reason I bring this up is that I wonder if Froyo will be ready in time for us to see the EVO as soon as we'd like.

4g is hardware related but it has to be cooked into the OS for it to be recognized. Kinda like a driver on a pc. It seems like they are just going to hack it into 2.1 and make it work, but 2.5 will support it natively. Though if jackson is right then 2.5 will be launched on it anyway.

Look at part 2. 4G-WiMax Network: Sprint Developer

Hey guys hope you all ate some great food today! I know i did!

The price for the mobile hotspot app, and this is a total shot in the dark if i might add, is between $20-$30. The only reason Verizon is doing that for free is because they can't sell the phones! hahaha It is like an incentive for buying one because sales are absolutely horrible. That phone in no way shape or form can stack up to the droid.

Also there have been rumors going around Sprint HQ (unconfirmed) that the Evo date may be pushed back until June 21. The only possible reason for this, and this confirms the reasoning from matt's source, is that it will ship with android 2.5. If this is the case i am thinking better for us and hey that is one day earlier than the iphone

Guess we'll have to wait and see, but either way, I can wait just a little longer, especially if it comes with Froyo already installed.

There are also rumors of a very high end motorola android handset coming fall of this year around the same time as the palm c40. I will try and get a model number on this one so we can keep an eye on it too. WiMAX.....

would that be an extra $20-30 a month for that hotspot capability? if so, i could care less about giving others free 4g and i'll be content with getting 4g on my cellphone haha.

also, someone asked you before but don't know if you answered it. you said it was a fact that the ram/rom would be significantly higher than the 1gb/512mb rumored. any guesses as to what numbers this phone will actually release with?

don't know if you guys already saw that on BGR, my source just told me i might look a little foolish for saying that so late, saw him at lunch today and he filled me in but heres the link for you all to see

Yess that amount would be added on to your payment.

I know it will be more than the incredible so i am **guesing** around 8-10 gb to store apps on

Dang, i would pay a steep one time fee for the mobile hot spot app but I cant imagine paying more than $10 a month on top of my bill just to tether. Any idea if that white model you say Is coming out had a teflon coating or not?

Correction- like i said earlier it was a total shot in the dark haha, i felt it was necessary so i called Dan (my source) and he said it woul be either 10 or $15. That should set a little better with you all. Clearly i would be nothing without this guy, i could never call a horse right in a race haha

Both phones will feature the same coating, from what ive felt a soft covering.

Well i know you are going to love the device! It has had the most time put into it than any other device EVER created! It will be the least buggy, quickest, and coolest phone on the market. Sprint and HTC have spent YEARS creating this device so it works symbiotically on Sprint's Network and HTC's software. There is nothing like having both the manufacturer and the provider in cahoots on a device. It creates something, well Evolutionary SUPERSONICAL ofcourse!

Also sell your camera, camcorder, and ipod on ebay; your not going to need those anymore...

Thanks again for the input Jackson. I was getting pretty tired of reading all the iPad rave. At least the EVO will have the following over the iPad already: multitasking, front camera, flash out of the box. But man...the price? Are you serious? If it's really under $300...wow. I really can't wait now

Funny, my digital camera is 8.2MP. Definitely doesn't do 720p video. To have these capabilities built into my phone is going to be a blessing.

I can't wait for this phone. ;)
