15 minutes minimum to check mail in Samsung App? That can't be right

Moving from the GS3 today to the Note II.

Maybe I am missing something, because honestly, I have been missing a lot of preferences thus far.

The Samsung email app....

Checks mail every 15 minutes minimum? That can't be correct.

Shouldn't it be every 5 minutes minimum? It was on the GS3.

In fact, I wish Samsung would make it every minute. I have to look into setting this email up as push with my iCloud account. There is instructions posted in another thread how to do it. I just have to find it.
 
I would never have enough time to read and reply if it were every 5 minutes.....
I have mine set for every four hours.... But, to each their own.
Maybe in an update they will address this for you. But for now, 15 minutes is the shortest.

I would understand 5 minutes being the shortest.

..but for some reason I did not see that option in the Samsung mail. Unless I missed something their shortest is update time is every 15 minutes.

Hopefully someone will clarify.

My bad... I missed the 1 in front of the 5. :(

Also, if the phone was always looking for mail wouldn't it be using a lot of battery power?
And at times searching for Wi-Fi/signal causing a overload on that end too?
I'm not sure, just throwing it out.......

I'd be very surprised if Samsung killed the push option. You could always use a different email app

I have my main email being checked every 30 minutes, and my other one every 4 hours. I don't get anything that more important than my battery life.
 
I use the gmail app set to push. The battery in his thing is a monster. It's fun to finally have a phone that you don't have to have any battery saving worries.
 
Set if for the most frequent and if that is not frequent enough, theres a manual refresh button right at the top of the screen. I personally tap the server every four hours and if I'm in between I just manually refresh. My batteries love me.
 
Anyone figure out how to push on the Android mail?

Can Mac (iCloud) mail be pushed? After all, it uses an imap address. Can you use an iMap address in push?
