I really had/have a good feeling about this week. I think we are inching (or should I say millimetering) our selves closer to an announcment. It's gotta be a matter of time. The whole apple event thing is kind of out of left field. VZW might want to consider not wasting a whole lot of more time. The longer this drags out the more it seems this is going to be launched to compete with the new iPhone, directly. I don't want to wait until June/July :-/

Me too, buddy... if we behave ourselves, we're due to be off probation by the end of the week, if nothing else! ;)

I agree. We've got Crapple releasing the maxipad and news of their new 4.0 OS and vzw hasnt released the slightest acknowledgement that our phone even exists. There needs to be something big coming soon from vzw or people are going to start getting restless and follow the companies that are actually communicating with their customers.

I'm watching the Verizon Wireless twitter page and the tool behind it keeps telling people "Don't leave yet, we've got cool phones coming"

+1 on that

What is the obsession nowadays in this country against someone making a profit? I have no ties to Verizon other than paying my bill and using their phones. I say, more power to them if they can find ways to make a profit and keep people employed. How many people does Verizon employ?

VZW has about 66,000 employees, and VZ Communications has about 223,000 employees.

I'm with you on this one. I would love it if everything in life was free...but that just wouldn't work. Common business sense should tell us that they have every right to charge us 30 dollars. Let supply and demand do it's job people.

That said, I hope we get this phone ASAP before this thread dies on Iphone at a time...yuck.

This discussion is morphing into something that wasn't intended so I'm just going to stop my side of it here. I think the original point that myself and others were trying to make has been made. If not, no big deal.

Let's just hope for some exciting news from VZW today.

Good to see the Kapster and Monty posting again. I'm primarily a reader not a poster and you guys make the thread, along with a FEW others. Good to see ya.

On a separate note... I don't understand the angst here. This should be a fun thread.

I can't speak for others, but for me the angst arises from having so many choices and not enough information to decide. Denizens of this thread might be having to choose from any of the following phones:

  • Incredible on Verizon (available: ???) (specs: ???)
  • Droid on Verizon (available: now)
  • Eris on Verizon (available: now)
  • Nexus One on Verizon (available: ???)
  • Nexus One on T-Mobile (available: now)
  • Nexus One on AT&T (available: now)
  • Nexus One on Sprint (available: ???)
  • EVO 4G on Sprint (available: ???) (specs: ???)
  • Moto Shadow on Verizon (available: ????) (specs: ????)
  • HD2 on T-Mobile (available: now)
  • Iphone v4 on ???? (available: ????) (specs: ????)
  • Windows Mobile 7 on ???? (available: ????) (specs: ????)

(not to mention the Palm phones!)

Maybe some people can narrow the options by striking certain carriers, or certain OS's -- but there's still quite a bit of uncertainty out there for folks looking to make a 2-year contractual commitment. High-end phones may cost you between $2500 - $4000 over the life of the contract. Its not a decision to be made lightly.

And thus, I really, reallywish I had more information about all of the above ???, including the Incredible.

...Thanks I appreciate the kind words ;) :p

I already own a Droid, I want something with more power. The Droid is nice, but the Incredible is better.
Why don't you overclock it to 1.1ghz using that custom kernel/ROM. It's completely stable from what i've heard.

Ya know the DROID can be just as fast as Snapdragon/faster right?

Will anyone else chuckle and go grab a Droid if this thing never comes out? :P

I almost did over the weekend. My BB 8330 keeps freezing and rebooting multiple times a day . It wouldn't be so bad but the thing takes a good 8 minutes to reboot. The doofus' in my local vzw "authorized" retailer couldn't get their story straight about the Incredible. One denied existence and was pushing the Droid. The other overhears us talking about the Incredible and rushes over to say, "oh yeah, that thing is gonna be GREAT!". The guy pushing the droid could have punched him and probably did after i said i would wait and left. Vz keeps holding on to this thing while the world is passing by... Apple is announcing their 4G technology and Moto is up to something as well. I'm as hopeful as most of you guys but I'm starting to experience an little "incredible fatigue". Maybe some good news will come out today to lift our spirits. Let's go already.
