Received update

Checked for HTC update and downloaded. Noticed signal bars now stay consistant. Didn't delete any of my apps, phone has everything it had before the update. So far so good.

Anyone that has updated - did you note the before and after versions of all the components?
I was just wondering what component changed (Kernel, or other), and how you would be able to pick up a phone and tell if it had the patch or not (ie. what is the version after this update is applied?)
Thanks

hmmm this sounds great. Maybe I should go trade in my One V again haha

Anymore feedback??

It's only been pushed for about 12 hours, I would definitely recommend waiting a week to make sure that it actually corrected the problem in all situations and locations.

I have noticed better reception in my house and 3g seems a lot faster now. Did a speed test and got 3400+ megs. I live down a hill, with aluminum siding so reception has always be bad, I'm sitting in my livingroom on 3g typing this now and surfing with excellent results. Thanks htc!

You're right. That's why I'm gonna be checking constantly to see what people are saying.
If the radio issue is fixed, I'll be back to the EVO. So far so good!

I noticed I usually received the radio interference error when I had WiFi on over 3g or just no 3g at all so before I downloaded and installed the update I just thought to give it a little test. I turned on wifi, ran a few pages then tried to message somebody. Boom, got the error a couple times untill I just deleted the message. I then downloaded and installed the update, put on WiFi, ran a few pages and then tried sending another message. Went through flawlessly, I even did it again with 3g and WiFi off just for the hell of it. No problems at all. Don't know how much this actually says but so far so good.

I'm not doubting your claim, but does Sprint 3G even go up to 3.4 Mbps?

I'd give it a couple days before I say the update is getting better speeds. It sometimes has to do with conditions outdoors. There are rare occasions, like 2 days ago, when my speeds are simply amazing. But usually later invthe day, or the next, it's back to basics, which is horrendous.
As for the update itself, just about all it did for me was to screw up some of my settings (like screen sleep). Other than that, since I never really had the text problem, I haven't noticed anything significant. My signal bars are just as crazy.
And to those hoping this was gonna lead to jelly bean, as was mentioned before in other threads, that was never a half a chance it would happen.

Just got a replacement phone: unlocked, rooted, s-offed, re-locked, ruu, ran OTA, re-unlocked, re-rooted, happy:)

Still on ICS 4.0.3. I thought that part would have changed? I've seen some other Sprint phones on ICS 4.0.4 like the Galaxy S2

Really not related, they are made by different manufacturers. Extending that thought they also have phones with Jelly Bean.

My wife just got the update but i havent yet. Has anyone tried updating with a rooted device containing the stock rom with the superuser patch and not s-off. If not, do you all think it will work?

after I updated signal strength was better and 4g connected faster. However I am now getting the resource shortage error again. Virgin is escalating and said there seeing what HTC has to say
