Ive counted 11 site this weekend with the same add. Its not even the 16th and the add is moving all over the web. HTC EVO FTW!!!!

@Supersonical thanks for all the info. I witnessed the drama last week over Sprint forum. I dont get it, its like you where posting great stuff but they didnt want it lol

I Had to finally post since I have something potentially useful to add: I can watch Hulu on my ancient Mogul using the Skyfire browser all day long - works like a charm. Skyfire is also working on a new version for Android, so that should be a solution for those of you who have to have your Family Guy (or whatever).

That is because Skyfire is essentially sending you a video feed from a browser rendering the page elsewhere. I used Skyfire on my Mogul and it was decent but hardly the same as a proper fullscreen, native Hulu or Netflix app. I guess it's good in a pinch but I think that I will more likely put videos on the device ahead of a long trip rather than trying to stream some low framerate version from Hulu via Skyfire.

Apple showed off iPhone OS 2 in March and showed off the 3G iPhone on June 9th and launched the phone on June 11th along with OS 2.
OS 3 was previewed on March 17th and the iPhone 3GS was announced on June 8th and released on June 19th.

Apple doesn't show off hardware until they are ready to ship it unless like the original iPhone and iPad they worry about the info leaking from the FCC certification. They show off the new OS first so developers can test it out and start developing apps that take advantage of it.

I wouldn't expect to see a new iPhone 3GS+ or 4G on the 8th.

Those are very strong words and I hope they are all real. The last thing we need is a phone that will not perform as good as you expect (Instinct anyone)...

I really appreciate all of your help and information but I'd really rather not see this thread shut down. Is there any way we can keep the iphone chatter to a different thread? Again, no disrespect I just want to keep things on topic to appease the mods and admins :)

Don't even try, it won't work, I hope they don't try that...This is one of my previous posts in another thread...

It's been mentioned here a couple of times...MARKETING will be key for this phone to succeed. Look at the Droid. Before it went on sale they did a LOT of advertising for it and it worked. I am hoping that Sprint does the same thing for this phone. Also I hope they don't go with the "iPhone Killer" tag because it will not work. There are very little iPhone owners that will change their phone, so forget about the and try to get the tech savy Joe Smith to salivate for this phone and it will sell. That is of course my opinion...:D

please read past posts before you post something. I have said Dan told me that there is going to be an outright media blitz. And much to your dismay there will be many people dying to get this phone because it does something nothing else can 4G. So yeah, you seem a little fanboyish but w/e its going to be an outright beast, nothing will compare to it for a long time..especially when the real stats come out

np bro, its just that it could be coming to sprint thats all

I meant no disrespect. I am no fanboy either, I don't even have an Apple product. I did read your previous posts too and the point I was trying to make was that they should try to advertise the phone for what it is, a fantastic piece of technology and leave the "iPhone killer" moniker out. They tried that with the Instinct and did not work at all.

Again sorry if I sounded fanboy-ish, I could not be more on the other side of the scale...

Well you said the new iPhone was always there when they announced a new OS, when Steve has never shown off new hardware at the last two announcements. That's why I included announcement of new OS, announcement of new hardware, and hardware launch dates. If you have a source that shows otherwise I would gladly take a look.
I don't mean any disrespect but it just never happened. Sure it could happen this time, but we have to wait until the 8th for that and I would put money down we don't see any new hardware.

Now lets get back to talking about the EVO instead of speculating about Apple. :D

Hey guys, did you hear, there is a new phone fron HTC call Evo. Sprint will be the carrier and the best parts is that its going to have this cool fast connection call Wimax. :)

Is anyone going to Google IO next month in San Francisco? I got an email from Google today asking for my shipping address so they can send me a Verizon Droid for free........What am I going to do with that? eBay?

Seriously if anyone from AndroidForums is going to be there it would be great to meet up!
 
Hey Jackson, you haven't happened to of heard anything regarding apps for the car dock or desk dock such as the Droid and Nexus One have you? Or how about an app from Sling Media for a Slingbox? I have seen videos of Sling testing on Android but that was months ago, any idea?


EDIT: Bring me some Super AMOLED to my future EVO!
