ETA on nexus 4 in uk?

just had a chance to talk to google helpline staff over an unrelated issue... but my conversation soon turned into the Nexus 4, anyway the person i spoke to could give no time date for the next supply heading for the uk.
She couldn't even say weather i would be informed by email, something i activated before the official launch.
The advice was... just keep checking.
Why we can't preorder this phone defeats me.... at least we get a delivery time, and google gets some geniune feedback on supply and demand.

Yes I am thinking the same, its woeful how Google have handled this and just imagine if your phone is DOA how long it would take to get another one:mad:

Although its a totally vanilla phone a few folks are finding it a good spec phone for the money but basic on the software, I am thinking of another phone now and am going to take my good time looking.

Google have managed this very poorly and it reflects badly on them, the stupid thing is they just needed a pre order system.
 
At least in a few months it will have had a good testing and have a chance to show me its worthy of another upgrade.
 
I received an email saying up to 3 weeks. It's also been reported (in popular blogs) that it'll take about that long.
 
Google's ordering system is strange. I feel sorry for all that has had to wait for their Nexus 4. I ordered mine at around 8pm on the 4th, got a shipped email on the 5th and received mine today (would've been yesterday if the TNT tracking had showed it was out for delivery).
 
When you say it shows as pending... Where do you find that? The only screen I have is in Google Wallet, and it doesn't say anything about a status.

When you ordered yours what was the delivery showing? Mine was 5-6 Weeks.
 
I've had mine for just over a week now. Got it mailed to me 2 days after ordering from O2 on a "one year" contract.....

Do the carriers have some kind of priority or what??
