Help How do you get rid of video player in notification shade?

So when Ive listened to music on the device I've used the built in music player app (not Google Music). I notice I can access the control panel through the shade, very cool. Not so cool is after I've stopped listening to music it will sit in the shade showing a pause button icon. How do I just turn it off completely?

When you finish listening, close the app with menu>end (hidden at the bottom)
