if you don't have a 29.95 data plan currently, when you upgrade to the data plan i think they will let you sign a new 2yr and get the 2yr pricing, at
Well I had the droid, sold it and lowered my plan to a cheap phone with no data. So I can still do it? If not what should I do.
That is what I have and the VZ tech told me the same thingSomeone got a MiFi on a grandfathered VzW data plan and I was like holy crap don't change that ever! haha
Well how old is your current contract? Are you under the $175 ETF or the old $125 (I think it was $125)? If you are under the $125, I'd merge the number you currently have to the added line, keep the added line as the primary, drop the phone with the $125 and save $50...If you can...Its been a while since I've looked at various ways of screwing Verizon over lolOk so ill eventually have to drop that extra line. Then Ill have to pay 175 anyway on top of all the months I paid for the extra line?

See thats the hard part...If the ETF is $175...But the phone subsidized to like $200...You might as well pay the $375 total and save another $175 if you were to buy the Incredible new...You know the Incredible won't go for less than $525-$550 off contractIf you don't have to pay the "advanced device" etf, then ur best bet is terminate and sign a contract with the incredible. if you do have the high etf, you may be better off buying the phone outright.
If the phone works on Verizon's network, and has a clean ESN, then by LAW they have to activate the device on the network. Tell them that they are breaking the law. If they still cry foul, call into Verizon and speak to someone at a higher competence level.
Something just keeps bugging me. What are they waiting for?
Is this thing so great that it's going to blow the doors off anything else?
Or-
It's already obsolete and they are scrambling to update it so they don't lose their investment. I hope it's my first guess for all of our sakes. How sad for us all if this proves to be just another device VZ threw at the wall to see if it sticks. If you can't tell, I'm getting a little down.

Oh I get where you are coming from, I'm just stating the law. Then again, it was created back when clam shell phones were the latest and greatest thing ever, so phones have evolved and I'm sure carriers have made changes to the devices to prevent them from being used with other networks. The law in short just reads if it works on their network they have to let you add it (so long as the ESN is clean)I am not a tech expert at all, but I can tell you what I have experienced. Not looking to argue with anyone, simply stating my experiences.
I know while I was Alltel, the company was VERY strict about zero use of other carriers devices on their network.
In my transition to VZW I did not encounter this issue. But I can say its very difficult to get another carriers's device off of their old roaming list and on to the VZW PRL. The device must utilize the correct towers and these updates come out frequently. Even if a device had a correct PRL initially, I am thinking it would not receive updates when they were released????
More importantly, I know I could place VZW devices onto Alltel plans, because the two were compatible. We could NOT place an Alltel device onto a VZW rate plan or PRL. Alltel devices had to be on Alltel rate plans and a "hybrid" VZW/Alltel PRL was the most we could offer. If we placed an Alltel device on a VZW rate plan or standard PRL, the phone would not be functional.
Anything you can add VIPER?

ooo thats right I forgot they jumped it to $350...I hope the FCC makes them change that lolI would be cautious. VZW's ETF (early termination fee) for lines used to purchase advanced devices (smartphones) is $350.

BTW, who are the "knights" or these final people testing the phone? Like execs?
