That just sounds so phony... Like they made it up just to mess with us. Next, we'll find out it's passed the Verizon Wireless Customer Council and now has to face the 13 Trials of Verizon Wireless (including the Pit of Fire).

I made my peace with Verizon's timetable on this some time ago, but this is just getting ridiculous.

It seems like a lot of you here have never had to wait for VZW to release a phone. Begging for official announcements and a release date.

Umm..... Verizon doesn't do that.

Outside of the Droid, and that little blurb about the Eris, Verizon doesn't do press releases in advance. They tell you about a phone.. when the phone is available. Until then, we have to rely on ninjas to leak info, leak dates, etc. Verizon does NOT officially say anything. It's smart, IMO. What's the point of announcing a phone in advance? All it does is undercut sales on phones currently in the store, without any product to make up the difference.

Now, I will say this... usually at this point, there would have been a release date leaked from a very credible source, but that hasn't happened for some reason. To be honest though, I wouldn't be surprised if I checked online, and saw "Incredible Coming Tomorrow". That's just how Verizon operates. Take it from somebody who waited on XV6900 (aka. HTC Touch/Vogue), HTC Touch Pro, HTC Touch Pro 2... officially, VZW doesn't say a word.

just curious...Where does this thread rank amongst other threads? size? views? posts? I'm pretty new to this forum thing so I really don't know. It seems like it's by far the largest thing going...correct me if i'm wrong.

Ok, well I've asked AGAIN about new devices launching...
Got this response-

"Remember when the DROID launched and they kept the actual date under wraps for a long time, and when they announced it internally it was leaked...people lost their jobs over that. VZW isn't going to do that again, and run the risk of it being leaked too early. There is new device training this month for the phones launching"

Also know that just as I said, after a million hits on the InfoManager page, they locked it up, which is why you guys can't access anymore.
 
I had a flashback. I remember when cell phones were for making telephone calls. Monochromatic small screens, a game or two, like snake, a few telephone numbers in the address book, big keypad small screen. Calling people on the cell phone was amazing back then. Not anymore. Things have really changed.

What does this prove other than another domain has been registered?

VZW is about as sharp as a bowling ball, but they do do many things right. Testing is one of those. The test process has several levels, including:
- HTC [vendor] QA and bug fix testing, including FCC compliance/network operations/etc
- Vendor technical testing [these are the testers that NKT talked about] who are technically competent animals who thrash the phone and provide detailed bug reporting

When all this is done and the final release software load is available, they drop the phone to members of the Council, who are effectively representative users. The object of this phase is to confirm usability in the hands of a non-technical user, and get buy-in on the release from all operational groups across VZW [and maybe some large corporate customers too].

Once that buy-in is done, the phone can be released. I doubt that this last phase will take much time. Release still = soon[ish] but release confidence now = high and imminent.

Wierd, that Arlington VA address is right down the street from me.
 
First Post, long time lurker. Just want to join in the posting fun, and say thanks to those of you who are making the rest of us at least feel some camaraderie in our suffering. There are three of us at my office that, at this point, have degenerated into spending every non-working moment scouring them there interwebs for any news, and this forum has let us know that we do not suffer alone.

oh, yeah, also? All three of us have Storms.
