Root Buggy

rickpcmp3

Newbie
In the past few days she's been occasionally restarting out of nowhere (it happened this morning when installing' an app). Usually it seems as if she's been overtasked (i.e. lots of apps open, and then a major request is made like an app installation). Likewise, she also will randomly turn the screen on when untouched sitting on the table. I think it may be due to a Facebook update, or the installation of a Bible Quiz game that came w/ ads attached to it and all kinds of ad notifications that I believe I've finally opted out of for good.

Has any one else had any similar annoyances? Did I perhaps contract a virus? :o TIA for any feedback, and for everyone's continued work on improving the phones UI.

Well it hasn't seemed to do it anymore since posting this thread. I guess that's all I needed to do to fix it, post the thread :D

if you think adware is a problem, Get an app called "NORTON SPOT".
it helps you cleaning up the apps causing problems.

Mine was doing the same thing. Turned out it was the automated remove all bloatware BATCH file from the forums .. cause when i did the unbrick guide and started from fresh an removed the stuff my self it fixed it

rickpcmp3, did you use the automated bloatware remover?

My phone is rooted and I don't have rebooting problems, but I actually haven't removed any bloatware (I only disabled bloatware because removing can prevent automatic updates, and this phone has a lot of internal storage).

I thought my phone way restarting. I realized power button was squashed in when It's in belt case when I pick something from the ground. So I was the one who caused restarts.

Antivirus apps rarely work due to the fact that only nerf herders install insecure, unsigned 3rd party apps. Most of the time, "bugs" like these are either user error...scratch that mainly user error.

The batch uninstall bat deletes alooooot of apps that are mandatory for everyday use that we don't pay attention to.

Yes I did the batch bloatware removal, and here I thought it was cleaning my phone :bath: guess not :(

The Bloat remover did exactly as promised, but like I said.... We still don't know what half the programs do on this phone, so you can delete and get more memory, but you also run the risk of opening yourself up to bugs.

Its all trial and error with this model. If you can, make a back up of system/apps and delete what you don't need. If it causes issues then restore the app and move onto the next one. You'll be doing us a favor and giving yourself more experience with your phone. Think of it as bonding time. :)

Sorry to hear that. Gotta recognize that these kinds of scripts are often highly untested. You have basically set yourself up as a tester by using it, and it looks like it might not quite ready.

This page will give you instructions on restoring your phone (It thankfully won't erase your call logs, contacts, or text messages) http://androidforums.com/motion-4g-...rick-lg-motion-unroot-getting-1-5ghz-kdz.html

There have been cases where signed apps on the market were compromised by malware injection. And have you ever tried herding nerfs? Not an easy task lemme tell ya!
