[Verizon] Flash Galaxy Nexus

You probably need to unlock the device and find if Metro PCS runs on the same CDMA/LTE bands as Verizon, because if so, then like i said it would just involve unlocking the device.

Yea Do u know how to flash it to metro pcs or unlock it i have no idea what im doing and i really like to connect it to metro so i cant talk and text do you know how to do it?

I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure you can't just flash your phone to make it capable of switching carriers. Flash just means install, like installing different operating systems on our phones. Switching carriers is a baseband/hardware issue. In short, I don't know how to do it and I'm not so sure its possible.

I don't want to sound rude, but if you have no idea what you're doing, then you shouldn't be attempting this...

Hey there. You can go into a MetroPCS store and if you are a customer of theirs they should network flash it for free. If not, they will charge a nominal fee. That said, Metro's LTE is of a different band, based on AWS, so you'll likely end up with 3G only. May I suggest you try one of Verizon's MVNO carriers?

Best of luck!

Verizon has 3 main, 2 1/2 MVNOs that I know of, and none of them offer LTE service. H2O Wireless, Next G Mobile, Page Plus Cellular are the main 3, TracFone and Straight Talk is the half. TF and ST counts because they do have a phones that run on verizon's network, but I don't believe they allow you to bring your own device for use on that network.

jmar, I don't want to be argumentitive, but I learned long ago with the V3c/V3m that the Metro "network flash" with or without a fee (usually with) only adds the ESN or MEID to their network. However with those model phones we had the proper files leaked by Moto to fully flash not only a new OS, but the branded Metro OS with the proper PRL's, SMS/MMS server info, etc. to make it fully functional, but it had to be done before you had Metro do what they called a 'flash'.

With the Motorola A855, we were able to use some of the same tools that would access lower levels of the hardware/software interface to accomplish the same thing:

service programming on the moto droid

However, that was in the day when we had 'friendly' engineers who worked for Motorola.

So, with all that long answer, the short answer is that unless we can find a 'friendly' engineer who works for Samsung to give (leak) us the similar tools to edit those lower level items on the Gnex, it is not going to happen.

Thanks,

I didn't know any of that!

Super helpful and informative.
