Help Closing Stock Browser Question

What's the easiest fastest proper way to shutdown the stock browser so it's not using memory in the background. I noticed if I just hit the back button a lot of times to the place I started from it will close. I know the home button doesn't shut it down but I can go to task manager and kill it that way. Any other faster ways?

This is an interesting question, and I'd like to add to it, and perhaps the answer is the same. How does one get the browser to open to the same homepage every time it's launched? No matter how many times I clear out the cache or browser history, it seems to start with some webpage that was visited previously.

I think the way I "exited" the stock browser was to close all the windows, then press the back button. Regardless, I didn't like how this worked, so i'm using dolphin browser; it has an exit button.

I usually just close all background windows, then when I get to the last one I hit the menu button and then the "Home" option. This is on the stock browser. It doesn't close the app completely, but minimizes the amount of memory use. Also, after you haven't opened the browser for a while the phone will stop running it. You can tell when you open the browser and it reloads the page.

Long pressing home and then swiping it out is pretty quick and kills it from memory. Saves your tab places though (just the URL, doesn't keep the page)
