xScope, a multitouch pinch zoom browser

4/2 Update
Enabled domain specific user-agent designation
Added iPad user agent
Made the download page refreshing better (not 10s)

This is a good fast browser, but there is something that is causing my Nexus one to reboot when I use it.

I can browse mobile versions of websites with no problem. Though, if I try to go to a full website (all of them that is), it will cause my Nexus one to reboot everytime.

Is this a known problem or is it normal?

I'm noticing that the "exit" popup sometimes flashes on-screen for a brief moment when I exit the browser with a short press of the "back" button. It doesn't always happen, but sometimes ... clearing the cache seems to eliminate the issue, but only temporarily.

Man I love this browser. You guys work really hard getting this thing right. One question: I use Lastpass for android and really only copy paste pass words when I really need it. I like using google reader in xscope BUT how should I handle the login process?? I can't have a browser storing my Google password and was wondering if Lastpass integration is even in the ballpark of possibility's? If anyone knows of good workarounds (boolmarklet's I think) for using lastpass and xScope please post them. Thanks again for all the hard work.

I just bought the OS1.5/1.6 version and downloaded v5.02 update.
Noticed something with prior version light and latest light and full version:
Not sure how many webpages are affected, but when trying to key dollar amounts into windows for my online banking, I must toggle my keyboard to number mode. If I leave keyboard in alpha mode and aquire numbers by pressing and holding alpha key till it toggles to corresponding number, I get the number but it types over the last character rather than adding to the string. In other words, if I'm typing 123, I get first 1, then 2, then 3, not 123. There is no change when I disable pin zoom. This is on a Sprint HTC Hero running stock OS1.5 (I'm assuming the keyboard's are HTC Sense UI design). The stock browser exhibits the same behavior, so I'm not sure if this is a browser issue or perhaps bad HTML coding for that specific webpage or maybe a basic issue with the way the Hero interacts with HTML.

Just downloaded the latest update -- thanks for the persistent notification bar! Although I now find myself missing the extra space from full screen mode...

I have been having an issue where, after I switch from using HSPA to Wi-Fi, I keep getting "Forbidden" messages in xScope no matter what site I visit. It doesn't seem to fix itself even if I restart the browser. I think it has happened in the Android browser, but not nearly as often. Any idea what this could be?

Thank. Since xScope doesn't manage connection at all. So this must be something happening to stock browser as well?

This is hard because the app doesn't manage how input and web content interact. The underlying web engine (WebView) does it. Unless the webview component is changed, the behavior will likely remain the same. Bad HTML coding is another posibility as you mentioned.

A strange problem is occurring. When I open xScope and it is in thumbnail view, selecting a thumbnail does not launch a website. If I press and hold on the thumbnail, a tab opens and the website launches. Also, if I change the state of the notifications bar (open or close it), the thumbnails will begin working. It is being used on a Hero running Fresh2.0d

Trying free version (at least until I get my 2.1 update. C'mon, Tmo...). Had a problem getting the pin-zoom thing down, but I'm getting it now. (Don't need my reading glasses for web pages, nice...mobile-optimized pages re-columnize by themselves, even nicer...) One thing I wouldn't mind seeing is a slightly wider "loading bar". The micro-thin yellow line is tough to see and hard to tell if the page has stopped loading.

I've been using XScope since early January and it’s really impressive to see how much it has developed in just a couple of months. It was good from the start but now it’s really quite excellent. Never bought an app for any phone before but took the plunge and purchased this the other day, the lite version is great but felt I should buy it just to lend my support your hard work.

I'd also appreciate a bit of help though. Prior to the last couple of updates when entering a Google search I would get a drop down of my recent searches and search suggestions, however this is now missing. I've looked through settings and set Google preferences to display suggestions but have not managed to get this working. I find suggestions useful when I'm not sure of the spelling of a search term or just want to avoid entering the whole string and so I miss this feature. I don't know if this is just happening to me as I haven't seen any other comments about this, so any help would be much appreciated.

Still really excellent though and I would encourage anyone to download and use this browser.

Made progress bar more visible. Please update. Thanks

Baity,
THANKS!
On google's page, there is 'settings'. Click on that. Then you will enter google's settings. Then you will find:

Save Recent Searches
Check Off.
Then Save
Thanks.

Apparently, google has been changing their javascripts lately. We will dig into this later.

Am I the only one having this issue?

I've ben having this issue, as well ... or something similar to it, at least. Sometimes, I'll press a link and receive the blue-highlight screen feedback, but the browser doesn't begin loading the linked page. Two or three presses later, the link will finally decide to load. Very mysterious!

Very mysterious! I agree. I visit google mobile page, sometimes I have to press hard the VISIT button twice. Sorry that I don't have a clue yet.

4/7 Updates (same text as another post)
1. More visible progress bar. When in fullscreen mode, the progress bar is hard to see due to drop shadow casted by android system. Now there is a 1 pixel gap to make it more visible. I also tried other colors. Red is the most effective color however I am afraid that most of our folks won't be liking it so back to normal. Evolution vs. revolution kind of thing
2. Location near me, and suggestions of google are back! There is a function that google made publich only in 2.1. But google can use it as backdoor prior to 2.1. I have to use some other technique to work around it.

If you like those updates, please add some positive comments. Greatly appreciated!

I really love this browser but I am confused about what the differences are between the 'lite' and paid versions? Can you clarify? I'm using the latest version on Android 2.1. Thanks!

1. More favorites (150 vs 10)
2. You can open local files with it
3. Send screenshot of your current browser content
4. Task killing
Performance wise, the same.
Thanks

Just bought this, thanks for your great work! Is there any chance of organizing favorites at some point? I like to sort things in a order I prefer like in IE. Also, can you make a permanent "windowed" option in the future as well?
