How would you rate the sound quality of the N2

This is the 3rd smartphone, before this had a IPhone and the HTC Thunderbolt, I listen on headphones to a lot of tunes and the N2 is last in sound quality to me Seems to have a flat soundstage and too much bass not enough treble. It's really my only letdown.

Download PowerAmp, problem solved :)

I rank the external speaker for sound quality last in all devices I have owned. There is a noticeable crackle in the speaker when on voice calls or playing games if the volume is at max. To me being it is such a premium device it is a fail on Samsung's part that it is this way. It would not have been hard to put a speaker that could handle the volume coming out of it. Funny enough it does not happen during music playback.

I use the external speaker for music a lot at work. It sounds about the same as my Iphone did, but it gets a little louder. I honestly haven't used headphones with it yet. The bluetooth audio is wonderful. Miles ahead of what I had on the iPhone. ios 6 basically broke bt streaming on the older iPhones, making it sound like fm radio. This phone is much better in that department.

much better than my old Galaxy Nexus but thats not saying much! I've been using the built in Samsung Music player. I like the emotions random playlist option (bunch of lit square boxes). It also has an equalizer. only thing missing is the lock screen controls.

agreed the crackle is terrible i am thinking of asking for it to be swapped out.

Hmm, probably wont help. Mines does it too at full volume, they probably all do it but at least I can hear it nicely with no crackle by turning it down one notch. If its doing it to you turned down then definitely change it.

Yes, that's a great app!
The standard app wouldn't stream music via bluetooth to my BMW X3 and woldn'[t play some of my music
.
I installed Poweramp and now it streams fine. The sound is great too!

They all do it. I went to the Verizon store and messed with both the ones on display. I did not proceed with the exchange because that made three if you include mine that was turned on in the building that acted in the same manner.
