You were just born on the wrong day. Your momma shoulda held you in for 2 more weeks.
:D

Happy Birthday!

lol!! Thank You!! At the rate things are going with the release of this phone I should go crawl back in there and come out in 2 wks, go back in check again in 2 wks and if nothing happens then, hang out in the womb until JUNE... :(

I am not in any way affiliated with MM but its rather discouraging for me to try and find more information when people cry foul saying its a photo shopped picture and MM basically repeats what i said earlier about the in stock date as well as the availability and then comes out saying he found out earlier about this from his source but yet didnt post any of that information until the photos were leaked.
Ill find out tom if MM source is correct or not

Thanks. Your info has been very valuable to this forum. Let us know what you find out to.:)

I really need to stop the madness.... All the girls miss me on the Makeup Alley forum, but they don't understand that I'm waiting 24/7 for any tidbit of INCREDIBLE info.. I'm a makeup artist, but right now forums about eyeliner seem so unimportant compared to this.

Where as in the BBY Mobile store the phone is 199.99 at the time of purchase. BBY Mobile can do almost everything a verizon store can do minus the Verizon VIP program. That is a special program that verizon has that rewards customers. The qualifications are as follows, have a plan that is a minimum of $70 a month, have an auto pay set up every month, and have a good outstanding account with no late payments for a minimum of 6 months. The reward for the customer then is getting a new phone every year for the 2 year upgrade price plus an additional $50 off the phone. For family plans the the primary line is the only eligible line. BBY Mobile does not match that since it is a program offered directly through verizon. I would know this since i am a VIP member and I could not use that discount at my BBY Mobile store i had to go to a verizon store to get the discount when i bought my blackberry tour.

Let me first say thank you for your valuable contributions to android forums. Although there are some that love to call for anyones head / look for flaws in pictures / info, there are many many more of us that appreciate ANY information you can provide about the Incredible. Secondly, I decided to do a little bit of looking into the VIP program as I'd like to join, but apparently it expired February 28, 2010. :(

And since NOTHING is valid without a link to some people - https://store.verizonwireless.com/nevip/default.aspx

Can you give our resident comedian Steven58 a makeover?????

See the Incredible is already outdated...But of course I still want it!!!

A code string linked anonymously on Tuesday to AndroidSPIN suggests that HTC may be in the process of developing a new Android smartphone rumored to be released under the name of “Scorpion,” also known as to HTC employees as the “Olympian.” The Scorpion would use the 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, which would give it the ability to play 1080p video. It would also use the FRE65C build of Android 2.2, an update which Google has codenamed “Froyo.” WiMAX is referenced in a line of the leaked code.

I am not a tech expert at all, but I can tell you what I have experienced. Not looking to argue with anyone, simply stating my experiences.

I know while I was Alltel, the company was VERY strict about zero use of other carriers devices on their network.

In my transition to VZW I did not encounter this issue. But I can say its very difficult to get another carriers's device off of their old roaming list and on to the VZW PRL. The device must utilize the correct towers and these updates come out frequently. Even if a device had a correct PRL initially, I am thinking it would not receive updates when they were released????

More importantly, I know I could place VZW devices onto Alltel plans, because the two were compatible. We could NOT place an Alltel device onto a VZW rate plan or PRL. Alltel devices had to be on Alltel rate plans and a "hybrid" VZW/Alltel PRL was the most we could offer. If we placed an Alltel device on a VZW rate plan or standard PRL, the phone would not be functional.

Anything you can add VIPER?

If we try to activate an ESN that is not a Verizon phone, we get an error and we cannot activate it. Does that answer your question?

viperboy, JMKosmo posted an email on page 498 that he received about activating a CDMA phone that Verizon doesn't offer because they are now open. What are your thoughts on this, and how would you go about doing it? I would seriously consider the EVO if the Incredible doesn't make it this month.

Sorry if this has been asked before, but it seems like viper knows his stuff very well.

That program isn't what it should be. I honestly don't know much about it. It's not like "bring us an EVO and we will make it work on our network". I believe it is more for the people who want to make a CDMA device (could be a laptop, cash register, whatever!) and use VzWs network. It's a process for them to get that device using their network.

If what Viper says is true, that VZW chooses what gets released or not, such as the Cellebrite.... wouldn't the specs that he posted be what's chosen by VZW to release also? Wouldn't that mean that Viper is really a plant from VZW here to fool us? Or maybe the whole board was made by HTC for Verizon in order to spark market research! THE GOVERNMENT IS EVERYWHERE!!! GET OUT OF MY TEETH!!

First of all viperBOY. Don't go around knocking indirect stores. For one, I own my own business within a Verizon Wireless Premium Authorized Retailer. In FACT, we are the 5th largest handset seller in the country. Guess who we are behind? The big four corporate stores. We go to great lengths to not only do everything a tech store can, we do more. We wear professional clothing, suit and tie, as opposed to polo's.

Second, we have the ability to go on our own to business's (which is what I mostly do) and make sales with them. I have personally delivered phones to clients homes(after I got off work at 9:00p.m.) when my store was out of a certain phone by going to another store to pick it up. I've loaned personal BlackBerry phones as well as other type of phones to clients for a period of time (last one was a BlackBerry for four months) because for whatever reason their phone is not ready for upgrade and their phone is broken.

Third, unlike a corporate store, we do not take their name, hand them a number, make them wait in an expanded waiting room, and wait for who knows how long. We treat everyone that comes through our doors like they own the store. Not saying corporate stores do not either. Just saying I hear it all the time from people coming from those stores.

I could go on, but you can get my point.

Sorry for the OT to the others on this thread(which is great by the way, keep it up). I feel the need to defend myself when I here someone trying to disgrace what I do.

I didn't mean to hurt your feelings and I wasn't personally attacking you. I would say that any of the authorized resellers in this area are horrendous and you can bet that I strongly suggest the visit a corporate store. It's a bad experience for them when they go to a reseller who tells them the wrong thing and then we have to correct it. Happens every day, there are numerous resellers around the store I am at.

I must be one of the most cynical guys on these forums

How is that these "Verizon" employees which seem to have all the "inside" information go searching the Internet in the first place for news on mobile phones just like us peasants when they will have the information well before us.

Well maybe they do it out of boredom, maybe they do it cause their so good hearted and just want to help, or maybe some are full of crap and just want to impersonate a Verizon employee to gain "thanks" and admiration.

Not accusing just speculation.

I do work for VzW. Believe me or don't, I couldn't care. Yes, we will find more info out on the internet than within our own company, that's true. That's how it works.

With all the people here that claim they do, or did work for verizon, you would think so credible info would be able to sneek out.
So either verizon is locked down like cheyenne mountain or it just isnt coming in the near future, I for one am losing all hope to see it before the sun burns out.

Like I said, everything I know I have shared here. To a regular employee who doesn't care, they wouldn't even know what the Incredible is. For me, I look for things in the systems and I can find some little information here and there. They do their best to keep things a secret.

Thanks lajboys!

You know, with all these dates floating around from today (MM and Best Buy) and some other announcements from various people here today, my brain keeps bringing me back to these images. I think we will seriously see this device this month!

Well it seems more and more like that calendar that I found was pretty spot on.

The latest news that I have is that tonight while cleaning there was a man there to buff all the floors of the corporate stores we clean and there is a room in the back that is always locked. Well, he opened the room to buff the floors and then when he left, he left it open I guess for us to clean. The sad news is that I didn't see any htc incredible phones, accessories, or anything. There was everything for every other phone you could think of and I even saw a cover that was labeled for the samsung reality that was yet to be released but nothing for the incredible. Again, i will keep my eyes open to anything I find our see.

I was not singling you out as my post clearly states... your not the only Verizon employee around here...I think we are up to about 10 now.

I think your right- I've got a good feeling about this. Thanks for keeping us posted on your late night espionage.;)

Right, but we NEVER give up our sources, right? We've got their backs.

Good thing is that no VZW employee is dropping confidential info here. Still bugs me that some companies can be ruthless when it comes to this stuff. While I really want to hear from VZW sources, there's no way anyone should risk their jobs just to be a forum hero. After all, this is a phone not a state secret. Well, VZW is kinda treating it as a state secret, but that's their prerogative.

Sure I have their backs if they use TACT...Most do...Some don't.

I was at Best Buy the other day - the rep told me that they get Verizon phones later (for example he told me they got the Droid a month after it was available from Verizon). Is this true? And if it is true, it would suggest that the incredible will be available to purchase directly from Verizon at an earlier date than the 25th.

Don't believe that rep. The Droid was available the same day at Best Buy as it was from Verizon. There were people making appointments the week before to get the phone from their local Best Buy on release day.

Actually I believe I read somewhere that EVDO Rev A is capable of voice and data at the same time but Verizon hasn't implimented the simultaneous service yet.

You're right. I should have stated that it's a 6-month-old standards spec so don't count on it. I believe the hardware for the tower upgrades is not even available yet.
If this AT&T marketing is really working maybe you'll see SVDO upgrades but I wouldn't count on it. I'm not sure it's a wise investment with LTE being deployed.

First off thanks MM for sharing what you've been told! got a lot of great info later today!

But I'm with this post above, wouldnt Verizon want to sell an exclusive phone first? maybe at least a week before hand? I know they get the money from the contract and you paying for service over the next year or 2 but has Verizon even shared a release date with BB or any other company before?
He says bb got the droid a month after, did bb get the storm same time as Verizon? or the razer?

Thanks for all the info MM!!!! :D

Took me about an hour to catch up on posts but it was well worth it!

Gnite all!
