Help Car Dock problem

mjspls

Lurker
I love the Razr M. The only problem I have had is the car dock. It seems there is not a good fit between the charger and the dock. It sporadically disconnects. I have returned one dock but the second still has the same problem. I also have tried multiple chargers. It looks like the receptor on the dock is too shallow for the charger to " snap" in.

Has anyone else experienced this? Any good solutions?

I use the car dock, and have no issues at all. There are different inserts to make it fit properly...are you using the right insert? I have no case on my phone, and use the correct insert, and it fits perfectly.

I'd love to use the car dock, but I have mine in a case to protect it. That's more important to me.

I think you misunderstand. The phone fits perfectly. It is the fit between the charger and dock. This is the charger I am using. What charger are you using?
I have no idea, some knock-off. But the cable isn't part of the charger, so I just happen to grab a random cable, and it worked. It looks like your charger has a built-in cable, unfortunately. I'd get a belkin or something, one that just has a USB port in the charger, so you can use a cable that works well.

It actually has multiple inserts, so you can make it work with a case as well as without; I think it had an insert for no case, an insert for thin, and no insert for thick cases, if I remember correctly.

I have a pretty thick case on mine and I've read that it won't fit. I may need to find one that's more universal. I'm also not a fan of one that suction-cups to the windshield.
