[FIX] Working MMS for TW JB Roms

I just figured out how to fix my MMS on FK23 and thought I'd share with everyone here. It's not too difficult. I took the Boost APN settings from the anps-conf.xml in system\etc, pushed it to my laptop, and looked inside for Boost's settings. For me, those were:

carrier="Boost_Mobile"
mcc="311"
mnc="870"
apn="Boost_Mobile"
user="Boost_Mobile"
server="*"
password="*"
mmsc="http://mm.myboostmobile.com"
mmsproxy = "68.28.31.1"
mmsport = "80"
authtype="3"
type="*"

Then I went to the dialer, and dialed ##3282#, then Edit, then entered my MSL (you can get it from Boost), and then scrolled down to other. Change the mmsc url to the above value, and the mms proxy as well. Then hit okay and back out, and you should now have working MMS!

I can confirm changing the mmsc url works.

With FK23 it defaults to:
"http://mms.sprintpcs.com" (without the quotes, I have to put quotes otherwise it comes up with a link)

You will need to change it to the following:
"http://mm.myboostmobile.com" (again without the quotes, I have to put quotes otherwise it comes up with a link)

Once you change it reboot the phone and you will be able to send mms.

The above setting is all you need to change, anything else you can just leave be..

In case anyone wants it here is a How to:
before we start this, I am in NO way responsible for any messups that may occur and won't be held accountable. If you are not comfortable doing this please refrain from doing so, as these settings can really mess with the phone if you mess with the wrong one. That being said here we go.

-First off you will need your MSL number to edit the settings.....the way I did it was called boost mobile and ask them for it, they gave it to me without a problem. Write it down.

-Now once you have your msl number go to your dialer, as if you were going to dial a phone number.
-Punch in ##3282#

-You will then get a popup of DATA, and it will says Veiw and Edit

-Hit edit

-You will see at the "Check MSL" screen a place to enter your MSL

-Enter the MSL number that boost gave to you when you called them..

-Once typed in hit "ok" and you will get to "DATA" screen again.
You will see things like "Data Profile", "EVDO" "Advanced" etc......just go into where it says "Others"

-In that screen go to "MMSC URL"

-In the "MMSC" screen tap the mmsc url you see

-Type in where you see "http://mms.sprintpcs.com" (same as above with no quotes)

-put in "http://mm.myboostmobile.com" (same as above with no quotes)

-once that is done back all the way out, reboot the phone and viola, you now have working MMS

Note: This should not mess up any of your phone or have any adverse affects.

I hope this was easy to understand.

I tried this without changing the proxy and could not send MMS, then changed the proxy and could. YMMV

Weird, I wonder what the differences are.

All I've ever done is the url line in mmsc, everything else is set whatever came stock with the rom.
Of corse I have to change the url every time I flash a rom with fk23, but have never once touched any other setting other than the url part.

My proxy is set to 68.28.31.7
Not sure if they are to be the same, I'd think not, but not sure. Only difference is the last number, and I think it will have a variation, like a block of ip's that boost has so that number may change per the area you are currently in.

Are you like on WiFi or is this 3g? I don't use much 4g at all, and very rarely use wifi either, all I use is basically 3g.

Also is your like flashed from sprint over to boost?

I'd like not to mislead people as to what settings to change, but I would also not like to have new people change to many settings, as it can be confusing.
Just trying to narrow down what's different in yours and mine and those are the only thing I can think of that are different.

Maybe together we can find the difference

3g. Not flashed.

Well I would, but if it's already working I can't really test anything, because it already works. :)

I just changed the url only, and it works. Never changed anything else.

Not sure how I'd test it if just changing the url only works.

Edit:
Looks like I may have been correct, I can send, but didn't receive, so I am going to test it and see after I change it.

I am currently on a CM10 rom, so was wondering since the dialer part doesn't work on the roms how would I edit and add in for the other part? (the proxy part)

Never mind, it works fine. That time I sent before to my phone was just a fluke thing, because I sent from 2 others to my phone and then the next day sent from thier phone to mine again and it worked that time, so it's all orking good, all from jsut the url change, so dunno what is different. Gonna be one of those things stuck in my head now till I either forget about it or find out why :)

I think on cm10 roms you have to open the voice dialer and speak "Open APNs" in order to get at it.

All I know is that the above fix worked for me. Before changing the proxy my mms was borked. After it worked fine. May be a difference because I'm on a tw based rom and kernel.

I just made sure the mms settings for URL, proxy, and port matched what I had on the stock ROM and it is all good. The only quirk I ran into and this applies to the stock ROM too is when you are on WiFi only with cellular turned off (no signal inside my house), you have to turn on the cellular transmitter to send an mms even though it is using the WiFi to send it even with no signal on the cellular.

You should only have to edit your MMSC settings in the DATA menu by dialing ##3282# on the dialer string. I do not know the server name for Virgin's MMS, but you can pull it from your phone before you flash it

Hello it is the boost settings required for Sprint ROMs to use on Boost phones. All the custom ROM's out are defaulted for Sprint settings, So, yes, it is for our phones!
