Looongggg time lurker here, been following this thread from pretty much day one. I have no inside info or contacts, in fact I fly fish for a living, so I have not had much to contribute. That being said, I have never owned a smartphone of any kind, am on Verizon, and been using this forum to gather info and make my best educated decision on my first smartphone purchase. If the Incredible turns out to be anything close to what we hope it to be :D, it sounds like the way to go for me. So, I have a question for those in the know about purchasing this phone when it comes out. I am up for NE2, but I have been seeing discussion here about Best Buy, Verizon stores, online purchases, etc involving rebates and the like. So what do you think is the best route to go to purchase the Incredible (assuming it is available at all above mentioned places) as far as out the door for the best price, and no mail in rebates?

wirefly is usually a good place for cheap prices if you sign for two years and don't care about insurance.

OK so I am new to android. Will all androis phones run all android apps? I only ask because coming from the BBerry world apps seem to have to be tweeked for specific BBerry phones. I have a couple of apps I need to be on my phone. One is "Go-Payment" from Intuit which I ahve been told is in the android store. It is marked on Intuits site as certified on the droid. Should I assume (dangerous word) it will run on the INC? As I said new to this os so any help will be appreciated.

Sorry it this is deemed OT just need to know.

I hope it's real and really the only thing I question is the "Really" comment on the page. It almost seems directed to us anxious people on the misc. forums that have been listening to BS for weeks. The regular public would question why it says "really" as they have no reason to doubt VZ like we do.

Believe me, believe what you want with the pic. I think the pic looks fake and horrible, but it is what was passed along to me. And to be honest, I probably couldn't even do that in photoshop. :o I'm real bad with that kind of stuff.

I'm off to the GYM again so I can get all buff and take you kids on.. . don't mess with 58 man! ;) :p

No kidding! Look at Dolph Lungren and Sylvester Stallone, Dolph is 50 something and Sly is over 60, they could both kick my 32 year old butt any day of the week! As could Steven 58... ;)

God I can hardly wait to Smash my iphone with a sledgehammer and get this Incredible in my hands. 2 weeks and counting!

Just a few things I want to clear up in regards to Agent/Retail Locations vs Corp Stores

Pricing- Pricing can't be dictated to agent locations, and can be set by the agent owner. Agents don't have any guidelines to follow other than remain profitable. All corp store have to follow the corp pricing matrix. I give the contract pricing to my annual upgrade customers, and I read earlier that BB doesn't- that is their policy, not all agent locations.

Upgrades- Agent locations can do all of the same types of upgrades that corp stores can do, however some types of promotions have to be dealt with in a different manner. NE2, Annual upgrade, conversion promotions- all can be done at any location. It's really dependent on how helpful the location wants to be.

Release dates- The Devour was available to the indirect side first, for whatever reason, it was not just BB. We usually hear about these types of releases in advance so we can gear up for it, and no word has been released on the Inc.

My locations do anything and everything to help our customers. I have pricing set extremely aggressive and have people that travel hours to get phones from us, because of knowledge, service and pricing. I just wanted to post and say 1- shop around, you just may find a better price and agents can play with pricing 2- Don't be treated in a way that makes you unhappy, find a locations that you enjoy going to. 3-If this phone doesn't come out soon I'm going to freak out because I want it so damn bad.
That is all.

^What he said. I do the same with my pricing as well. Just to prove to people when they come in that it is not always better to go to a corporate store. In fact, It's better to come to my store. Or his above.

Good post buddy.

It's totally dependent on more than price. BB can offer instant rebates sometimes, making out the door costs lower, but in some cases the service you get after the sale may not be what you want. Same can be said for anywhere.
Agent locations set their own pricing so some times you can get good deals, and if you find the right location, your service will be top notch, but again it dependent on location.
Corp stores are more of the same.

Long story short, out the door cost can sometimes cost you...shop around and find a location that you feel comfy with and provides you with the best service.

My word, I definitely picked the wrong line of work! :D

Hey, somebody has to so it right? BTW I want to send an official THANKS to everyone on this forum that has spent months, weeks, and days digging up any and all info on the Incredible that they can, I appreciate the efforts as it has helped me in making my next phone purchase!

Sorry if I'm a little slow on the uptake here...so after reading a few posts I was hoping someone could clarify something. I am not due for a new every two upgrade but I can do an annual upgrade (It's been 14 months). Does Best Buy allow you to upgrade with contract pricing for an annual upgrade? I have like 90 reward zone dollars that are just sitting there.

How do people expect advertising to look like, Of course it's going to look photoshopped they're not going to launch a damned box out of a wall just to get a picture, get real. How do you think they make their advertising, using photoshop(or GIMP if their cheap)

hey guys. just joined last night to get in on the action. i have had my enV2 for 2 years now and have a NE2 in my account. i NEED this phone because i have never had a smart phone. i went from a RAZR to my enV2 and now i think the incredible would be an excellent transformation for me. a month or two ago it was Nexus one all the way... but now its incredible for sure. from all the leaked images and spec, it just looks....well, incredible. and i saw MM post last night and got all excited. i hope it comes a week before then like on the 17th(this has been my prediction for about 2 weeks) it would be a very nice way to end my spring break. :) hope everything goes on the schedule that has been laid out, we shall see. thanks again for everyone posts. :)

Yeah, buy Sly has been using hormones, so after he puts up a beat down, he'll be crying for hours snacking on comfort foods

dude I WANT YOUR JOB haha. My Dad is a HUGE fly fisherman. Man, some people are so lucky :D

i think that picture is legit. I'm 99% sure verizon sent that out to just employees KNOWING it would leak out, making everybody who was gonna 'jump ship' to wait for what these new phones are [even though we already know..?]

I assume I can purchase insurance from Verizon (or maybe Best Buy as well) and cancel it at any time? My thoughts are that new phones come out so often that if something horrible happens to my phone within maybe six months I'd need it. After that though I can probably find an affordable Android phone either new or on eBay that would work in it's place.

I think I'll also call the insurance company I have my home policy with to see if I can't get our phones covered for loss or theft. I've never carried such an expensive device around on a daily basis before.

I tweeted to @VZWOffers a while back that they should check out this forum to see all the excitement for this phone ( that was when the response came back that lit up the blogger sites) maybe they took me up on the offer ( yeah right) and hence the box picture promo ( not really serious here but juuuuussst maybe )
