Hi,
Earlier when i used to take the S pen close to screen and move it, the screen would also move, that is without touching the screen with S pen.
I also remember the nib not being present.
Now this does not work. There is a nib and a blue dot and i have to touch the screen every time i want to use the S pen.
I dont want this, how do i get back to original.

Please help.

Yeah when I first got the note 2, mine would hover as well, then a few days later I noticed it no longer did the hover thing, but I also read somewhere about there being static electricity charges and thats why it may be hovering, does everyone elses hover?

Hi,

Have you tried going to settings>S Pen and see if AirView is checked?

I think the pen is only supposed to scroll the screen(list) when held above the screen at the top or bottom of lists ie in email or settings. Its not supposed to scroll the screen by moving above it generally.

If you hold the s-pen down near the bottom (left or right) of the home screens, the cursor will become < or > and the screen will scroll left or right without touching the screen. But above the bottom icon roll, the cursor will turn into a blue circle and you will have to touch the screen to scroll.

Thanks everyone for the reply...
The blue dot and < > for left to right scrolling is happening fine.
Its just that i had got the new note 2 the hover worked gr8 even 3 cms away from screen. In a few days it settled to the blue dot and < > scroll options. The airview and all 4 options within it are enabled. I guess this is the way S-pen is, cause i wont possibly be able to use handwriting with the hover feature.
Guess my S-pen was too sensitive when it was new and has now peppered down !!
Thanks everyone for the help.

Yeah mine did exactly the same thing for a few days, I could hover above the screen w/o making contact and it responded to my strokes(lol). Now I just have to make it touch the screen, I do see the arrows for the airview thing and thats cool, I really liked the hover tho, lol, guess it's gone.

Any time your S-Pen starts behaving differently- spank it.
No....I'm serious. :D
Tap it a few times against a hard surface.

Read before whacking your S Pen!

If you pry the cover off of the S pen button
there is a potentiometer for adjusting pen sensitivity.

Smacking the pen probably works by jarring the potentiometer.

So there is an alternative to whacking your pen:
