REALLY People? This is what some of you have been obsessing over for months?

I updated my AT&T GS3 to JB tonight. Seemed to go fine, except Kies is freakin slow.

So I am using my phone and it all seems to work fine, and I didn't have to factory reset or re-load all my apps or do anything annoying like that.

But as I'm using this I can't help but laugh at some of the people on here who were almost saying "I DON'T THINK I CAN LIVE ONE MORE DAY BECAUSE EACH MINUTE WITHOUT JELLYBEAN IS LIKE AN ETERNITY"

I don't really notice much difference to be honest. I guess "Project Butter" is maybe a little bit buttery, but could just be psychological. Yes there are a few more items in the dropdown menu.

Don't get me wrong....there is nothing "wrong" about JB.....I just don't get why many people were just nutso about getting it. It hasn't changed my life as far as I can tell.

Enjoy!

It's because it's new, so if it's new, then ICS must be old, and old is bad! I'm not into a big hurry to update, I'm perfectly happy with ICS. Not doing it until it has root, that's for sure.

i said this multiple times in almost every thread that was made about 4.1. most people wont notice it and alot of people will even want to go back. people just dont listen generally

I for one am wishing I hadn't upgraded (AT&T GS3). After the move to JB, my wifi connection went from fine to very erratic and my battery life is poorer. I have resorted to WIFI High Performance Widget to restore at least a marginal wifi connection both at home and at the office. Hope AT&T fixes this issue soon!

Enjoy your laughter.
Does writing about it make you laugh harder?

Every android geek will pine for the next version.
If youre not one of them, theres no need to mock,

.....shhh whisper.... i bet you were pulling your hair out waiting on it so who's funny?

As one of the fools who was obsessing, I admit wholeheartedly you are right.

I upgraded to 4.1 the instant it became available...and the damn thing hasn't worked in my car since! Doh. Will I never learn? Nope!

just like every fan of technology awaits for a newer version of a certain product ,we android fans cant help but to want to try the latest, now with that being said we may or maynot be disappointed in the end but atleast we got to try out a new product. so in conclusion i think every person wanting to try the new jellybean is just anxious to experience it. now to want to experience it with such high expectations that's where we set ourselves for a potential huge disappointment. but hey everything can be improved if given the chance. sometimes all we need is a lil time to adjust to the new updates, although i agree the ics touchwiz was simple easy and fully functional.

I agree 100%. Many people were whining in the Tmobile forums about not getting JB (TM was second and only weeks behind Sprint... who does not need to modify for ISIS). I kept asking people what it was that they could not wait. Butter and Now were mentioned. At least for me, Butter makes no difference and Now is really just nothing more then annoying. It never "sees" package delivery or airline ticket emails. It keeps asking me if it should remember places I've stopped. Once (once) it told me I needed to leave at 7:02pm for a G+ event. That was cool. Now it just always tells me it takes 30 minutes for me to get home (it takes 15... and I know this).

Oh, I wanted to mention that I don't think 4.1 added much partly because Samsung did such a good job with TouchWiz. I HATE the way most companies modify Android but I have to say that I think Samsung did a great job. They had already added most of what was in JB already.

I see zero difference with Jelly Bean on my tablets as far as speed or touch response. Since Foxfi does not work with JB, I will not be updating my GS3. ICS works fine.

Now, if Foxfi is updated to work on an unrooted JB device, I will upgrade.

Quadrant score jumped by 1000 after update.

I also noticed a difference in opening apps, but thought you'd appreciate more objective evidence.

The TF300 must have sucky firmware/hardware then since my Excite 7.7 with ICS is about 300 points faster than the TF300 and JB. Actual performance with apps is better than that score.

Comparing browse speed and touch response with ICS and JB GS3s, I see no difference. I have yet to compare to a VZW GS3 with JB, but expect similar results.

I WANT MY JELLYBEAN! I CAN'T LIVE ANOTHER DAY WITHOUT IT!

OK it's coming today supposedly as I am on Verizon. So will switch now.

I WANT JELLYBEAN 4.2! I CAN'T LIVE ANOTHER DAY WITHOUT IT!!!

OK I have a REALLY stupid question.

I read that the OTA update only works through WiFi. Does that also mean I will not get the message to update until I reconnect to WiFi? I don't have WiFi here at work, so will I still get a message that says "Get thee white ass to WiFi so we can give you stuff" or will I not even get the message if I'm not connected?

You should be able to get the notification on cell towers. Did before for me with Verizon. If it only works on wifi it's another carrier that does it that way.

For some people, the existence of a newer version of an OS that they don't have means the end of the world to them.

On AT&T. My battery life is worse. But the phone itself is SO much better! Before, everything lagged, just a bit, but it affected my experience of using the device. Now everything is lightning fast. As soon as I touch or swipe, it's THERE. Love it!!!

Actually I wasn't.....because if I was, I wouldn't have waiting till last night to bother to do the upgrade!

When it re-booted and asked me if I wanted to start GoogleNOW, I said no. So it's not working for me.

On AT&T I don't even think there is a notification, and it has to be done physically using KIES and a PC.

Mine actually feels a tad laggier only WHEN OPENING an app....maybe because that window animation of expanding out is a little laggy and jerky.

I agree in normal swiping around it seems a tad more buttery.

My HAPTIC has gone on steroids for Swiftkey and calculator. So much more punchy and pronounced vs before. I think I have it on the lowest setting too. Haptic was always weaker on ICS and sometimes even intermittent. Has anyone else noticed this?
