Help Dormant mode and Google Now

When I first upgraded to JB yesterday I ignored the Google Now option. How do I set it up? Also, how do I set up dormant mode as I can't see anything in settings?

Not sure what dormant mode is. For google now, use the Google search widget or long hold menu to bring up Google search.

In there, press menu, settings, Google now

Well its there unless you're from the USA and are on one if those meddling carriers that removes android functions for no reason.

Thanks for the info. I downloaded the app and set up a shortcut. But it places an icon on my status bar. Any idea how to get rid of the icon without rooting?

On JB, you should be able to find the app in App Manager, and theres a new box "show notifications".. just uncheck it mate?

Good idea. Didn't know that was a new feature in JB. Unfortunately, it didn't work. I suspect it's because you use the app to create a shortcut and it's the shortcut that's placing the icon on the status bar. Hmmm... Thanks though.
