Long time customer here. I have had Verizon (initially Bell Atlantic) service for over 25 years and only 4 phones in that time, so I am long overdue. I have been eligible for NE2 for several years now. 8-)

Unless there is some last minute bad news, I will be getting the Incredible.

I want to purchase directly from Verizon, but have questions about on-line versus corporate store.

Will Verizon service/exchange phones purchased on-line on a walkin basis at the corporate store?

Will it cost more for activation or other things if I purchase at a corporate store?

Thanks,
Steve

Steve, from my personal experience (I have bought every one of my Verizon phones online) nothing is different than if you purchased in store. I have brought broken phones back that i bought online to corporate stores and they have treated them like they were bought in store. Not one bit of difference in my experiences.

Call any corp store they will verify this, they used to exchange but they wouldn't for me said their policy changed.

If you made your purchase online it has to be exchanged online ($35 restock fee for a change in handsets) and if you bought in a store you must exchange in store.

No mail in rebates to wait for if your purchase online Free overnight ship waived activation fee.

What do you need?
I heard i can buy the Nexus One unlocked for AT&T and then get the $10/15 data unlimited plan and it will work/be fully functional. Is this true?? that would certainly save a lot of money. I heard it works because the phone is unlocked and not sold by AT&T so it's not like technically in their systems and stuff. I'll have to ask the person that's doing it but they aren't responding right now so i thought i might ask some of you guys.

To clarify, you can get your phone serviced in stores if it breaks, but if you decide in the first 30 days that you don't want to keep the phone, it must be returned through the website.

Thanks, everyone! :) Positive news always keeps this thread fun and upbeat!

I will be keeping you all apprised as I hear from my source. Clearly, he is as excited about what he's been able to find out as the rest of us! He had this to say in regards to his information going viral on here last night:

SOURCE: I appreciate you taking the time to put together this story for the forum. Look at how the forum responded! I will only be in the store for one day in the next week and a half (biz trip to vegas) but I will be monitoring the inventory as soon as I get back. Will keep you posted. Again, thank you.

i have had the tour since it came out last year, (i think may) and i have had it replaced 3 times due to issues, i was under the impression that after one full year of my contract i could renew for a new phone at the 2yr price (w/o any ne2 discount) am i mistaken? cause i want to get the incredible on my one year mark.

You should be able to as long as you're either on a solo plan or the main line of a family plan. I'd suggest calling customer service and asking them about your options.

Edit: They also charge a $20 processing fee for this privilege.

You can. But you will have to pay $50.00 upgrade fee.

Wow that amazing! I go through a phone every 6 months. One advantage to ordering online is free activation. A lot of reps will waive the fee if you are nice in the store too.

Yeah, I keep on pushing the envelope.. sporks.. I'm thinking I'll get an ADMIN PM in my inbox when I get home from work.

"Dear Mr. 58,

Thank for you services, these past three months on AF. You have been productive and funny. Whereas your services have been appreciated, they are regrettably no longer needed. Please empty your desk immediately. Please leave your card-key at the security desk on the way out."

Cordially,
Two Sporks

Oh sorry, can't help you there, my work phone is a BB Curve on AT&T and I can't stand the service, it's horrible. I couldn't tell you on pricing/plans/etc.. Our corporate folks handle our plan pricing etc.. Sorry, thought maybe you wanted personal experiences on how bad the service is.;)

On that note, the service, in my opinion, is horrible, calls always go in/out, get dropped, don't go through etc.. I never have these problems on any of my past Verizon phones (RAZR,KRZR,Voyager, or Dare).

Anyway, sorry couldn't be of help to your specific question.

I know the thanks have been coming fast and furious for you but I figured I'd pass on another, from the reps at the Verizon store down the street. I asked them about upcoming phones, of course they had no info. I asked where their manager was and one stated she was 'at training on something hush hush'. I gave them printouts of the pics here and the reps were thankful for the heads up as we all know they're the last to find out.

They knew something big was coming in the last week of April but none of the reps knew what it was about.

Thanks Kappy.

NP! I'm just passing on info. The real incredible person was the source!!! :)

Ok kids... off to dinner with Mrs 58. I'll catch you later tonight. Try not to post too much (like I do) so I don't have much to catch up on. I freely confess having skimmed some today. ;)

woo hoo! I actually read all the posts today. You guys are amazing. I would like to thank everyone for keeping us in the loop even though Big Red isnt :)
